What’s Beautiful

May 10, 2012 | motivation, running, Uncategorized

Under Armour: What’s Beautiful . . . You!

When you decide on a goal for yourself, do you follow through with it? What makes it worth attaining, and what helps you along the way? What if I told you that you could have support, accountability, and possibly win really cool prizes, like being one of the faces of Under Armour? Motivation enough for me!

Under Armour has just launched their What’s Beautiful campaign. This thing is big. REALLY big. It’s pretty awesome too. All you have to do is sign up online (free!) and announce a goal. It can be any goal from running your first mile to completing an Ironman or losing five pounds.

This will last for nine weeks, and at the end of it, Under Armour is choosing a handful of women to basically be the faces of the brand. REAL woman, reaching real goals.

I love it. I believe true beauty lies within. In your drive and determination to reach for the stars. In your hopes and dreams, to be the best version of yourself that you can be. Are you what’s beautiful? YES!

Have I already signed up? Heck yes! So what is my goal you ask? My goal is to run a 27:00 5k. It will actually have to be a training run and not an actual 5k because racing season is pretty much over here. I know it will be hard, but I also know with the help and accountability of the campaign I can do it.

This goal is important to me because last year my 5k personal record was a 27:18. It was on a hilly and hot course, and I was so close to hitting that sub 28:00 mark I had coveted for so long. This year, due to a lot of half marathons and a stress fracture, I only ran one 5k and I was not in the best shape to do so. I don’t want another year to go by before I reach my goal, I want to do it now!

I placed in my age group last year, but didn’t reach my goal of a sub 28:00 5k

I plan to reach my goal by doing the following:

1.) Run 3-4 times per week, with at least one speed workout on the treadmill

2.) Lift weights for a stronger, healthier (injury-free) body

3.) Practice yoga at least once a week to help keep my body limber and flexible

4.) Cross train at least once a week to keep my body guessing and to be overall more healthy

Here at Running With Sass, you know I value fitness and health as well as looking cute while getting fit. Under Armour has an amazing line up of apparel that can help you look great while training for your goal. Personally, I am loving the idea of the slash capri, the Armour bra, and the charge RC storm running shoe. These products look super cute and I am sure they would help me on my way to my goal.

So you want in on this awesome project? Have a goal in mind? Go sign up on the Under Armour website and get going! If you aren’t sure what goal you want to achieve, go to the website and search through some of the other participants’ profiles for some good ideas. Create your own profile, and start the challenge today and show the world you are beautiful!

Not to mention, you can win some of this awesome free gear for yourself! See the rules below for a chance to win a $500 Under Armour gift card. Be sure to leave a comment telling me which of the Under Armour products you want to try! There will be three separate sweepstakes, so come back later for even more chances to win!

Those slash capris are super cute! I’m also intrigued by the Yoga Bra. Their whole Studio line looks like fun!

Is “I want everything on the Under Armor website” acceptable? I could always use more sports bras or running shorts, but specifically, the slash capris are pretty clutch.

We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we just needed a break from the noise.
What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️

When the Smoky Mountain heat gets unbearable, we h When the Smoky Mountain heat gets unbearable, we head to Pigeon Forge Snow. ❄️ #sponsored

One of our favorite family activities in Pigeon Forge because you can snow tube year-round, rain or shine, without worrying about the weather outside.

My daughter could do the tubing hill over and over, and the indoor snow play area makes it even more fun. Honestly such a good break from the summer heat. Plus, it’s super close to nearby attractions like Dollywood and several mountain coasters.

Here is my favorite in park Disneyland character e Here is my favorite in park Disneyland character experience: The Plaza Inn character breakfast. Here are a few things to know:

✨ Meet Minnie before you even enter the restaurant and get photos with her + a photopass photographer.
✨ Food is all you can eat. Minnie waffles, bacon, eggs, pastries, fruit, and more!
✨ Multiple characters visit your table throughout the meal.
✨ Reservations are a must and can book up quickly!

This was such a fun way to start a park day and meet several characters without spending part of the day waiting in character lines.

Getting in a walk or run when I can. Actually drinking my water. Sticking to a skincare routine instead of overthinking it. Paying attention to my hair and scalp instead of just throwing it up and moving on. Nothing extreme, just consistency in the basics.

I’ve also been using Mochi Health for personalized skincare and hair support, and it’s made it way easier to stay on track without guessing what my skin or hair needs.

If you want to try it, there’s $40 off your first month through the link in my bio. @joinmochi #joinmochi mochihealth

Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro took part in Cork to Fork on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, and every bite felt like a love letter to local flavor. From bourbon-glazed pork belly to a warm cinnamon-bourbon bread pudding that honestly didn’t stand a chance at our table… this was one of those meals you remember.

Mountain views, chef-driven dishes, and whiskey worked right into the menu in the best way. 😋
