Gold Bond Friction Defense Giveaway

September 30, 2012 | fitness, Giveaway, health, running

I was contacted by the awesome people at Gold Bond and was told about a new friction defense/anti chafe product. I have terrible chafing problems, so I decided to try it out and see if it would help. I was sent the product as well as some socks (which are super comfy!)

I decided to first try it out on a ten mile long run, as I figured that would be the ultimate test. I put it on the areas I usually chafe (in between my legs, on my sports bra line, and under my arms where they rub my tank tops) and Bobby used it as well.

I am happy to report, along with Bobby, that there was zero rubbing or chafing, and no notice that I was even using it on my body, and no scent (some brands can be sticky, greasy, you can “feel” the product, are scented, etc.) Also, it can be used daily, and acts as a moisturizer for your skin. it is also a great skin soother unlike many other anti chafe products on the market. I have had problems with other products wearing off after a few miles and needing reapplication, but not with this. I have so far used it on runs between three and twelve miles with no need for reapplying.

You know when you didn’t even realize you had chafed, and there is that terrible moment in the shower where the water hits you and you are on fire and realize you DID indeed chafe? (Oh I KNOW you know what I am talking about!) I am glad to say I have not had to deal with that at all since using Gold Bond Friction Defense! Whew!

gross and sweaty, but not chafing!

Another great thing about this product is the price point. It is less expensive than many of the same types of products on the market. You can find Gold Bond friction defense in the first aid aisle of major retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, and CVS.

The great folks at Gold Bond have offered to do a giveaway for RWS, and one reader will receive the friction defense product, as well as a pair of socks and a t-shirt! Here’s how to enter:

1.) Tell me in the comments below what activity you would use/need the product for

2.) Tweet the following: “I want to win #GoldBondFrictionDefense from @runningwithsass http://runningwithsass.com/gold-bond-friction-defense-giveaway” and tell me that you did so

It’s that easy! Please leave a separate comment for each entry, and remember I can see if you actually tweeted or not. Good luck, and you can enter until Friday, October 5th, and I will announce a winner on my blog on Saturday, October 6th. Good luck!

Yes, I know that feeling in the shower all too well. I don’t even let words fly, just yelling is involved. My brain can’t process anything through the stinging feeling, and all I can get out is a yell.

This looks like it would be an awesome product for running! You know you have determination when after running 2 miles you can feel the chafe coming on and instead of turning around and calling it quits you push through to get to your goal! This unfortunately just happened to me…even though it was painful I felt great after my 10 miles 🙂

Summer photo dump ☀️ Emma Kate starts school Summer photo dump ☀️

Emma Kate starts school tomorrow, so I guess summer is officially over. 😭 It’s bittersweet. I’m excited to be back into a routine and fall is my favorite, but I will miss lazy mornings and traveling on a whim and not having to help with homework. 😵‍💫

Here is a carousel of some of my favorite moments. From basketball tournaments to travels down to south Florida and back, Atlanta, Asheville, Tuscaloosa, Pigeon Forge, and all the way to Disneyland, and my 40th birthday plus 4th of July, tiny house camping and Opryland for Bobby’s birthday, we packed a lot into the past 2.5 months.

I never want to forget these special moments with my little family. Memories to last a lifetime that I thank God for. 🩷

Have your kids started school yet?

BACKSTORY TIME! 🚘 I drove the same Toyota 4Ru BACKSTORY TIME! 🚘

I drove the same Toyota 4Runner for 14 1/2 years. Last October, we got a good deal on a Highlander platinum with 10,000 miles on it from @foxtoyota.

The only problem is, I wanted the Grand Highlander platinum, because it has way more cargo room, legroom, and some other features that the regular Highlander doesn’t have. I thought that’s what we were getting, but it wasn’t available and we ended up with the regular Highlander, which don’t get me wrong, I was very grateful for after driving the same car for so long.

However, as the months went on, the differences were very noticeable, especially with how much we travel and the lack of space. Without me knowing, Bobby had been doing research and working with the wonderful folks at Fox, and was able to find us a brand new Grand Highlander platinum.

He had hoped it would arrive for my birthday, but it was a couple weeks late, which was totally worth it. He’s usually really bad at surprising me (my 40th birthday party a couple weeks ago was supposed to be a surprise, but I found out.) so I was truly in shock and speechless when I came home and this new car, which we named Ruby, was in the garage!

@bobbymontg may not be the most romantic guy, but he shows his love in ways that he knows I appreciate. Best birthday gift ever! 🩷
