Fall at Disney World 2020

October 26, 2020 | Disney

Things may look a little different at Walt Disney World this fall, but rest assured, the magic is still there. I recently had the opportunity to visit the Magic Kingdom thanks to Disney hosting my family, and I was thrilled to see not only the fall fun that can still be had (and eaten!) but also how clean and organized everything was.

Fall at Disney World

Let me preface by saying the park was more crowded than I anticipated, but it wasn’t crazy by any means and we got to ride plenty of rides. Just don’t expect crowds you may have seen in pictures from July or August, because more people are showing up, which makes me happy for the cast members! Even with more people there, I felt safe. There were lots of cast members cleaning, reminding people to social distance and wear masks, and lots of ground markers for waiting in line with lots of space in between. Ok, now back to the fun!

When we walked through the gates, I wasn’t sure what to expect or how I would feel, so I was super excited when the first thing I saw was a group of my favorite Disney friends welcoming us to the park.

We waved and took photos, and it was just what we needed to kick off the day in the park. Turning onto main street never gets old, and it had been almost a year and a half for us, so it was extra special this time.

In passing the bakery, we saw the first of many special fall treats for purchase. Look at this delicious cinnimon roll!

Fall at Disney World

There are SO many tasty fall treats to discover, be sure to check out this post for info on all of them. I did like that some places had signs outside with the menu so you didn’t have to go inside and crowd up places when wanting to check the menu (or you can use the app!)

I think Emma Kate’s favorite thing was the spontaneous character cavalcades that came down Main Street. We caught at least three of them, and waved and sang and danced every time. It was so fun!

My favorite were the Halloween themed ones, they even played music from the Halloween parade which is my favorite.

We also came across Chip and Dale in costume in Frontierland which was a fun surprise. I really loved not knowing exactly when or where we would see the characters!

I also loved seeing people dressed in costumes. Through Halloween, even adults are allowed to dress in their best Halloween costumes and there were some good ones for sure. I just went with a fun Halloween shirt and headband, and Emma Kate had a Haunted Mansion outfit and a Cinderella Castle Halloween outfit.

We use mobile ordering for lunch which was super easy, and we were even able to snag a last minute dinner reservation at Tony’s Town Square for dinner. Yes we stayed until the park closed, something I haven’t done in a long time! We also enjoyed a mid day snack and coffee in the hub grass, which is one of my favorite things to do. (Remember, you can remove your mask if you are stationary, socially distanced, and actively eating or drinking, which we were here.)

We were also treated to a beautiful cotton candy sky that evening.

I am so thankful we were able to visit my happy place for fall at Disney World, and even more thankful that Disney has gone to such great lengths to keep things clean and safe while also adding in some special Halloween magic into the park. If you are considering going to Disney right now, I would say YES go! But definitely keep in mind things are a little different, and crowds are picking back up. I would go again in a heartbeat though, but for now, I will just think of the amazing memories we made!

Turning 40 has me reflecting a lot — where I thought I’d be, where I actually am, and what “success” really means. Who is in charge of making those rules anyway? 👀

I don’t have it all figured out. But I’m learning that I’m not behind. I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
And if you’re struggling with this too… you’re not alone. 💛

It’s beautiful, sophisticated, and very nostalgic. The attention to detail is astounding!

You can even purchase a fireworks package and sip and dine while watching the show with the music piped in and lights dimmed.

My fave? The brown butter old fashioned, complete with spaceship earth stamped ice cube. 🧊 🥃

Reservations can be made 60 days in advance on the Walt Disney World app, and walk-ins are not accepted at this time.

I will admit it’s pricey, so something I would save for a special occasion! Very cool experience though and would 10/10 go again!
