Four Tips To Make Any Holiday More Memorable

August 31, 2021 | holidays

It’s that time of year again! The holiday season is creeping up on use with Halloween two months away, quickly followed by Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know you want to make it memorable for your family…But how? Here are four great tips that will help you!

1.) Have a Theme Wear

What happens when you go to visit family and friends during the holidays? People usually ask, “what are you wearing?”

Some people have a theme or tradition created around decorating for different occasions like Christmas, Halloween, etc. While this might seem silly at first, it helps create memories and have fun with your loved ones.

For example, instead of letting people wear whatever they want on Thanksgiving, you could opt for funny Thanksgiving shirts for a fun celebration.

The holidays are about spending time with family and friends, creating memories, and making traditions. So, why not start a new tradition this year by having themed holiday wear for your guests to enjoy? You might even find yourself looking forward to the next party as much as your guests do!

2.) Incorporate Team Activities

Having a theme for the holiday is fun, but if you want to make it unforgettable, try incorporating team activities. Whether this means creating games with candy wrappers or making your two-minute family Olympics, doing something silly together can be just as fun and memorable as opening presents on Christmas morning.

A fun idea is cooking and grilling. Have one team grill the meats and another prepare snacks and meals. This will ensure everyone contributes, so when it’s time to feast, everyone appreciates the meal.

For the  kids, have engaging and fun activities like decorating with balloons or streamers and coloring sheets. Such activities will entertain the kids with zero risks.

3.) No Rules Means More Fun

There are a lot of times when rules in the holiday season can get old. When there is so much pressure to have everything perfect, sometimes you forget that it’s about having fun and making memories. So let go and let people enjoy themselves!

What better time than this one to just do what you want? Make the holidays your own by not worrying too much about doing things or other people’s expectations. If you feel like decorating with red candy cane lights instead of white ones – well, then why not? Want to have hamburgers instead of turkey on Thanksgiving? Go for it! Tired of too much candy at Halloween? Hand out a fun craft! Just have some fun with it in whatever way stresses you out the least.

4.) Have Outdoor Entertainment for All Age Groups

A great way to make your holiday more memorable is by having outdoor entertainment that will grow with the family. This means you can keep hosting the party for years to come instead of putting away decorations and waiting until next year.

One idea would be adding an adult area close enough to watch over kids, but far enough they don’t feel like part of it all, such as a pool or hot tub. Then, the adults can take turns entertaining older children while keeping them safe, so everyone has fun! A fire pit provides warmth from chilly fall nights and a roasting place for marshmallows when sitting around a friendly flame. Also, if weather doesn’t cooperate, there’s always s’mores indoors. For younger children, you could get a few inflatable pools and let them play with water toys while watching the older kids from afar. Try to pick something for everyone so no one age group feels left out.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you don’t need to break the bank to have a memorable holiday. You can keep things simple and still create great memories for everyone involved!

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️

This one is great for busy folks who want to make a “special” drink without too much fuss. 🎄

It’s literally just water frozen in the bottom of a glass with some rosemary taped in it. I waited a few hours the poured in some Prosecco and added in edible glitter (you can use multiple colors!) pretty and delicious, and keeps your drink cold! Cheers! 🥂 ❄️
