Savor the Magic: The Best Disney World Restaurants and Why You Should Try Them

September 26, 2023 | Disney

Walt Disney World Resort is renowned for its enchanting attractions and thrilling rides, but one aspect that often takes a back seat in the excitement is its incredible dining options. From fine dining to family-friendly fare, Disney World has it all. In this blog post, I’ll shine a spotlight on some of the best Disney World restaurants, according to me. PLEASE keep in mind, this is just my opinion, and that it changes regularly depending on my experiences. Also, it was really hard to narrow down, I could have put 5 more in the number 4 and 5 spots, so there are plenty other places I LOVE! I also tried to spread things out around some of the parks and resorts. Let’s discover what makes each of these dining experiences extraordinary and why you should add them to your Disney bucket list.

1. Steakhouse 71

Located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Steakhouse 71 is a hidden gem for steak aficionados. This recently reimagined restaurant pays tribute to the year 1971, a significant milestone in Disney history. The decor boasts a modern mid-century vibe that celebrates the resort’s opening year. As for the cuisine, Steakhouse 71 offers a top-notch steakhouse experience with a menu featuring prime cuts of meat, seafood, and mouthwatering sides. They also have a really good breakfast menu, and it’s never been super crowded in the mornings when we are there!

What sets it apart: The restaurant’s proximity to the Magic Kingdom, impeccable service, and a diverse wine list make it a must-visit. Steakhouse 71 promises an upscale dining experience that’s perfect for special occasions.

2. Liberty Tree Tavern

If you’re looking for a taste of colonial America, Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square is the place to be. The restaurant is designed like a colonial inn, offering hearty, family-style meals that are a homage to traditional American comfort food. The menu includes roasted meats, mashed potatoes, and classic desserts like apple pie.

What sets it apart: Liberty Tree Tavern captures the essence of early American history, making it an educational and delicious experience for families. The atmosphere is cozy, and the all-you-can-eat feast is perfect for sharing with loved ones. Also, the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is the star!

3. Art Smith’s Homecomin’

For a taste of Southern hospitality and comfort food, head to Disney Springs and visit Art Smith’s Homecomin’. This restaurant, helmed by celebrity chef Art Smith, showcases the flavors of the American South with dishes like fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and delectable desserts. The ambiance is warm and inviting, evoking the feeling of a welcoming Southern kitchen. This place books up FAST and walk ups can wait upwards of 2 hours, so I highly recommend a reservation.

What sets it apart: Art Smith’s Homecomin’ combines flavorful cuisine with a laid-back atmosphere, offering a refreshing change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. The moonshine-based cocktails are a unique highlight. they also have outdoor seating with a nice view.

4. 50’s Prime Time Café

Step into the past at Disney’s Hollywood Studios by dining at the 50’s Prime Time Café. This retro-themed restaurant takes you back to the 1950s with its decor and staff, who play the role of your “family.” Expect classic American comfort food like meatloaf, fried chicken, and milkshakes served with a side of fun and nostalgia. Be warned, the servers will act like your cousin or aunt, and “Fuss” at you and tell you to get your elbows off the table or stop playing on your phone. If this kind of environment upsets you or your kids, you may want to skip. But it’s one of our family faves. Emma Kate requests it every time.

What sets it apart: The immersive and entertaining experience at 50’s Prime Time Café makes it a favorite among families. Guests are encouraged to follow old-fashioned table manners, and the TV shows from the 1950s playing on vintage screens add to the charm.

5. Yak and Yeti

For a taste of Asian-inspired cuisine, head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and dine at Yak and Yeti. This restaurant combines a rich, detailed atmosphere with a diverse menu that includes dishes from various Asian regions. From dim sum to Korean stir-fry, Yak and Yeti offers a delightful culinary journey. Hands down the best table service restaurant for families in Animal Kingdom!

What sets it apart: The restaurant’s location within the exotic setting of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and its menu diversity make it a standout choice. The theming and ambiance create a unique dining experience, and the food is just great making it one of the best Disney World restaurants!

Walt Disney World Resort is not just a place for thrilling rides and enchanting shows; it’s also a culinary paradise. These five best Disney World restaurants offer a diverse range of dining experiences that cater to various tastes and preferences. Whether you’re craving a sizzling steak, a taste of history, Southern comfort food, a trip down memory lane, or Asian-inspired cuisine, Disney World has a restaurant to satisfy your palate. Make reservations to savor the magic of these exceptional dining establishments on your next Disney adventure, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

I’ll be honest… I sometimes find beach resorts kin I’ll be honest… I sometimes find beach resorts kind of repetitive.(ad)

Beach. Pool. Restaurant. Repeat.

But @margaritavillefortmyers surprised me. 🎉

What made it stand out wasn’t just the beautiful beach. It was the little things. A pool we kept coming back to, a location that made everything easy, sunsets right on property, spacious rooms, and that sweet spot of being family friendly without feeling like a kid-focused resort.

It ended up being one of those trips where we were already talking about coming back before we even left. I want one of you to experience this feeling for yourself, sssooooo….
