Self-Care Hacks for Increasingly Frazzled Moms

December 19, 2023 | health

Nobody said being a parent was easy, but they also never said it would be this hard! At times life can feel overwhelming, and this can weigh heavy on your mind in a lot of ways. For modern mothers, there are so many reasons to take the time to look after yourself, and this is something you need to make sure you get right as much as possible! Being an attentive parent is really important, but it is vital to be attentive to your own needs as well.

If you want to be the best possible parent you can be, it is important to be operating at the highest possible level. This means you need to work on taking steps that are going to help you improve your body and mind, help you to de-stress and unwind, and ensure that you are looking after yourself as a mother. Be it taking care of your clothes, relieving stress, or stealing some quiet time alone, self-care is the cornerstone of every modern woman’s life.

Declutter Your Schedule

Decluttering your home and your life are also things that can hugely improve your self-care, as well as allowing you to reduce and remove a lot of the stress in your life. But, one of the best ways of being able to embrace self-care effectively is to make sure you declutter your schedule. This is something that you can achieve in a lot of different ways, and getting a handle on the best ways of doing this can help you considerably when it comes to improving your life.

There are a lot of things that can help you to declutter your schedule, and the more you can do to make this work for you, the better. Removing things you don’t need to be doing, and trying to condense things down in the week more, so that you have a less chaotic schedule, is essential. This is something you need to try to get right as much as possible, and there are so many considerations to make with this.

Ease the Burden

Easing the burden of being a parent is essential to stop you from going over the edge, but this can also be one of the most challenging parts of the process. There are so many obligations and responsibilities to take care of as a parent, and this can cause a lot of worry, anxiety, and stress if you are not careful. This is what makes it so important to find ways of being able to ease the burden moving forward.

There are so many different things that can help you when it comes to easing the burden of parenting, and this is going to make a big difference to your life in general. By being more organized in your life, this is the perfect way of being able to lessen the load, so to speak, and to ensure that you are easing the burden (and stress) of your life moving forward. Try to make the most of this, and there are a lot of ideas that will help you here.

Come Up With a Sleep Routine

One of the best ways of remaining sane as a parent is to make sure you come up with a sleep routine for your little one. This might seem like an unattainable goal, but in reality, this is something that you can achieve through gradual trial and error, not to mention a lot of perseverance! Determining the perfect sleep routine for your child is going to make a huge difference to your life, and improve your happiness and well-being in the process.

There are a lot of factors that will help you when it comes to improving things as a parent, and this is going to make a big difference. Having a set routine, giving baby a bath first, using white noise, and ensuring they are full is one of the best steps that you can take in order to make the most of this moving forward.

Take Some Time to Relax

Relaxation is one of the toughest and most challenging things to achieve as a mom, especially these days when you are going to be more frazzled than ever. It is vital to make sure you consider some of the best ways of being able to achieve this, and finding the right opportunities to relax is something that’s going to help you when it comes to improving this process as much as possible. There are a lot of ways of being able to relax as a modern mom, and finding some peace and tranquility is essential for improving mental health and wellness.

It is important that you do the best you can to take some time to relax as a parent, and keep your body and mind at peace. This is one of the best ways of being able to stay sane, and is going to help you be more successful as a modern parent. There are a number of ways in which you can relax, and finding what works best for you is absolutely essential when making the most of this.

Meal Plan

One of the biggest ways of reducing stress and promoting self-care is to embrace meal planning. This is going to help you be more organized and plan things out more effectively. There are some great ways of being able to develop a strong and detailed meal plan, and focusing on the key ideas that will help you here is essential. If you can come up with a meal plan for the week, preferably every Sunday, you are going to benefit from this enormously.

It keeps things more organized, and reduces the stress that comes with scrambling around to find some way of feeding the family. This is why you need to make sure you ‘meal plan’ as effectively as you can, and you could even choose to make these meals in advance and keep them refrigerated (or frozen) in order to save as much time as possible in the process of creating the right meal plan.

Lean on Others for Help

No woman is an island, and you’re no exception, so there is very little use struggling alone, and trying to do everything yourself, at all times. This is why you need to try to make sure you lean on others and get support where required. Raising a child is not something you typically do in a solitary way, and your friends and family are going to want to help you through this process. Make sure you let them, and don’t turn down offers of help.

You are going to become overwhelmed pretty quickly if this is something you attempt to do yourself, and this can have a negative outcome on proceedings. So,you need to work on doing the best you can to make the most of this, and using the help from other people can ease the burden on this as much as possible.

Develop a Beauty Routine

Self-care comes in many different forms, and one of the best and most effective is developing a beauty routine. This is going to help you improve the way you look and feel, as well as removing a lot of the stress from your life in the process as well. It is important to look for some of the leading ways of doing this, and one of the most effective is to develop a routine for very dry hands, looking at how you can address the issue of dry skin.

Having a beauty routine that allows you to improve the way you look is really important for helping to make you feel better in the process. There are loads of great ways of doing, and focusing on the likes of skincare, hair maintenance, weight loss, and more can really help you to approach this as effectively as possible, and there are so many great ideas that can help you here.

Get Out of the House

One of the best ways of being able to focus on self-care effectively is to make sure you are getting out of the house, and taking the right steps to enjoy the natural world as much as possible. Fresh air and being at one with nature can have such a positive impact on your mental health and well-being, so you need to try to get out and have a walk now and again.

If you can work this around your schedule, then it’s even better, and making sure baby is out and about in the buggy helps you to multitask, and ensure you are no longer cooped up indoors all day, every day.

There are so many factors that you need to think about with this, and you need to consider the best ways of being able to implement self-care. This is something that might help you when it comes to focusing on the best ways of making positive decisions for you. If you focus on boosting and promoting self-care, this is going to help strengthen your mental health and well-being, which will in turn help you become a better parent!

I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just o I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just okay.” Like, fine in a pinch… but never something I craved. 👀

But then this little picnic happened—just me, my girl, and a sweet treat we both loved enough to fight over the last bite. 😅

We’ve been trying to be more mindful with food choices lately (especially with summer travel coming up), and I grabbed these So Delicious treats at Kroger kind of on a whim. The new packaging caught my eye, but it was the taste that totally surprised us. Creamy. Indulgent. No weird aftertaste. And no, we’re not fully dairy-free—and we still loved them.

It’s one of those little swaps that doesn’t feel like giving anything up.

And that? That’s a win for both of us. ✨@So_Delicious

🚨 Homeschool decision!! If you have been aroun 🚨 Homeschool decision!!

If you have been around here since Christmas time, then you know we pulled Emma Kate out of her private school after the first semester and put her in a hybrid homeschool for the spring. The main reason being we wanted more absences than the school allowed.

What is a hybrid? In our case, she went to a school all day 3 days a week, and we taught her at home two days a week.

It seemed like the best of both worlds, not having absences count since we were also her teachers, being able to stay home some, sleep in, and travel.

Well, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. For one, the school we sent her to ended up not being what we thought. We were told being absent wouldn’t be a problem, but it became clear very early on her teacher was not a fan and she was not kind or accommodating to Emma Kate. There’s a lot of other reasons we didn’t blown the school I won’t go into. (If you are local and considering hybrid feel free to dm me and I will share my concerns and grievances.)

Teaching your kid is hard. There were lots of tears and frustrations, and she got bored since Bobby and I also work from home/I’m not a stay at hoke mom. We couldn’t just sit with her all day and teach her with our crazy long hours owning two businesses.

It was tough to keep a schedule and while getting to travel a lot was great, she didn’t thrive on not having a routine and struggled with the randomness of everything.

She is also a very social only child who missed her friends and also wants to play sports for her school.

In the end while there were a lot of pros to hybrid homeschool, the cons outweighed them for us so we are returning to her old school in the fall.

Am I glad we did it? Yes! I always would have wondered otherwise and now we know. We will still be pulling her out of school some to travel in the fall, just not as much.

If you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments below and I will be happy to answer the best I can! 🩷
