Aloha part 2

June 14, 2011 | Uncategorized

Yesterday I ran three miles, then Bobby and I went to the gym and did tri’s, legs, and chest, then did 20 minutes on the bike. I am feeling it today!

Ok so we left off after our first day in Disney. The next morning we woke up with a mission. It was Star Wars weekend, and we HAD to ride the new Star Tours ride! Our plan, was for me, Bobby and my dad to run to the new ride when DHS opened, and my mom took our passes and went to Toy Story mania to get us fastpasses. It was a good plan, we only waited for Star tours about 25 minutes, and our fastpasses were for around 12:45. But first….we woke up early (all except Bobby) got coffee, and sat outside on the swings at the beach, outside our room, and chatted as Disney woke up. I LOVE Disney early in the morning, it’s one of my favorite things ever.

We had some friends.

my mom took this of me and my dad hanging out, enjoying the view.

so peaceful! Ok, so back to the MADNESS that was the Star Tours line!

line behind us

after Star Tours, we did the Great Movie ride, the American Idol Experience, and then ate lunch at a counter service location before riding Toy Story Mania, and then heading out of the park.

heading out already? Why yes actually. We only had two park days, really, so we were hitting up EPCOT as well as DHS. But not before taking a few fun pictures.

We made it to EPCOT (so nice having your own car) and took more pictures…

and headed to Mexico for a snack

Bobby, dad and I hopped in the single rider line for test Track, and we were getting pretty tired so after walking around a bit decided to head back to the hotel.

Oh, I forgot to mention, this day was my parents 34th wedding anniversary!!! Fun times! We also were in Disney on their 32nd anniversary, and we ate at Narcoossees that night as well.

flashback fun….

2009                                          2011

2009                                                    2011

Isn’t that fun?!? and yes, my mom and I wore the same dresses on purpose so we could retake pictures in the (relatively) same spot. Love it! Do we look different?

Dinner was fabulous, we got our favorite waitress

and she gave us two free desserts since we were celebrating, yum!

if you know me at ALL you know I LOVE Narcoossees almond crusted cheesecake!

While we were eating, a freakishly dark storm settled over the Magic Kingdom, and we watched it rain from our table.

that’s not night sky, it’s dark clouds! ssspppooookkkyy!

After a lovely dinner we decided to walk the path back to the Polynesian from the Grand, it was so nice out, a great end to a great night!

tomorrow’s post will be more California fun!

QOTD: Would you rather be at the parks in Disney when it is raining or really really hot?

So much fun! And none of you look different from 2009. You know you’ll have to go back in 2013 and do it again, right?
Definitely really, really hot. Because then you can at least take breaks and cool off in the pool. It as ridiculously hot when we were there in June/ July for our wedding but I still loved it. This March when it was freezing and pouring, we couldn’t do anything!

PS. My mom really wants to do a Disney vacation in the summer of 2012 so I might give her your email address. It would probably be a lot easier for her to have some help!

Oh that’s awesome! As soon as she has her dates squared away I’ll put her in touch with you. Right now she’s thinking around her anniversary (August 2nd) but isn’t quite sure which dates work best.

We got on Star Tours in less than 10 minutes last week, though it was a Monday. Of course, now you have to ride it over and over since there are a billion or so ride combinations.

Great idea with the repeat dresses…if only to prove to everyone that neither you or your mom seem to age at all! 🙂

Love Narcoosees…and that walk back to the Poly after dinner sounds delightful.

If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten C If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten Coast, save this one. 🌊 #RentingTheCoastPartner

We stayed at Singing Waves in Cape San Blas, and it was everything we wanted in a beach getaway: beautiful views, plenty of space, and the kind of place that makes you slow down and actually enjoy vacation.

What really stood out, though, was Renting the Coast. They’re a locally owned, family run company that manages vacation homes throughout Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, and the surrounding Forgotten Coast communities.

Instead of managing hundreds of properties, they intentionally keep their inventory smaller so they can provide a more personal experience for both guests and homeowners. They’re known for being accessible, responsive, and focused on making sure every stay goes smoothly.

If Cape San Blas has been on your travel list, Singing Waves is absolutely worth checking out, and so is Renting the Coast’s collection of homes along Florida’s most underrated stretch of coastline. ☀️

I didn’t realize how much mental space hair removal was taking up until it just… wasn’t anymore. Between games, trips, and everything in between, having something I can do at home in minutes has been a total game changer. The app-guided treatments keep me consistent without having to think about it, and I’m already noticing smoother skin that actually lasts. And yes — the full-body, 10-minute-at-home situation still feels a little unreal.

If you’ve been on the fence, Prime Day (June 14–27) is definitely the moment to check it out with $120 off. #BraunSmartIPL

We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we just needed a break from the noise.
What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️
