Arriving in Disneyland

September 1, 2012 | Disney, running, Travel

We made it we made it! After a long LONG day of traveling, we are finally here! We left the house at 4:45 yesterday morning and drove two hours to the Pensacola airport. Then we flew to Atlanta, barely made our connection to LAX, and after a lot of traffic and waiting for a bus, we made it to Disneyland.

We checked in to our room, and immediately walked to the expo for packet pickup. It was a madhouse so we decided to go back Saturday for shopping.

The finish line!

Disney had tons of awesome volunteers directing you to the right locations to get your bib, shirt, etc. It was super easy to get around!

Packet pickup was downstairs, and goodie bag/t-shirts were upstairs in the actual expo. You can also double check that your timing chip was working as well.

Everything was of course very well organized in true runDisney fashion. There were speakers:

Lots of merchandise:

and great runDisney gear. Which I may have bought a lot ofโ€ฆ.oops.

There was a good selection of runDisney merchandise and I canโ€™t wait to go back tomorrow and do more shopping!

We hurried back to our room because we had a dinner reservation. It was nice to finally stop and sit down to eat, but I was so exhausted! More to come, but itโ€™s bedtime for this girl!

QOTD: Favorite thing about race expos? Or biggest pet peeve?

Good luck at your race! The expo looks a lot sparser than I would have expected; I’m used to Rock ‘n’ Roll expos that are crammed with stuff. I hope you have a great time!

LOVE Disneyland – have so much fun!! And I think the long lines are always the worst part of race expos for me

Good luck on your race! I’ve never run a Disney race, but they sound like such a awesome time. My favorite part about race expos in general is how pumped up they get you for the main event. They make you feel really important and remind you that what you’re about to do is really a big deal!

That looks like so much fun! Have an amazing time :-D.

I love expos, but I hate it when their number system is impossible, and the staff don’t know where to look.

I LOVE race expos especially Disney ones! I love the excitement you can feel in the air from all the runners! And I LOVE all the shopping! The only downside would be how crowded it normally is. But I just deal with it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a blast girl!!!

The slower 1/2 ran the Disneyland Half Marathon for the 1st (and hopefully not last!) time in 2011. The Disneyland expo was much less overwhelming that the Walt Disney World expos, which I still love! It’s great to see all the merchandise, samples and speakers at expos. We’ll be back to WDW in 2013 for Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge & Princess Half Marathon! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love this! Does Disney hold a 5K or is only the marathon? I’m not ready for a marathon or even half! I have quite a long ways to go. I’m going to be running my first 5K in December. I’d love to put Disney as my ultimate goal because I’m a little obsessed with Disney! ๐Ÿ™‚

This year I wanted to do something special for my coffee-loving friend โ€” something simple but still thoughtful. I grabbed a Starbucks gift card from Walgreens (they seriously have every kind you can think of, and you can even Buy Online, or Pickup In Store ๐Ÿ™Œ).

Then I added my own touch: a cute Christmas mug, a candy cane, and a little note. Because the best gifts donโ€™t have to be complicated, they just have to show you care. ๐Ÿ’›
