Arriving in Disneyland

September 1, 2012 | Disney, running, Travel

We made it we made it! After a long LONG day of traveling, we are finally here! We left the house at 4:45 yesterday morning and drove two hours to the Pensacola airport. Then we flew to Atlanta, barely made our connection to LAX, and after a lot of traffic and waiting for a bus, we made it to Disneyland.

We checked in to our room, and immediately walked to the expo for packet pickup. It was a madhouse so we decided to go back Saturday for shopping.

The finish line!

Disney had tons of awesome volunteers directing you to the right locations to get your bib, shirt, etc. It was super easy to get around!

Packet pickup was downstairs, and goodie bag/t-shirts were upstairs in the actual expo. You can also double check that your timing chip was working as well.

Everything was of course very well organized in true runDisney fashion. There were speakers:

Lots of merchandise:

and great runDisney gear. Which I may have bought a lot of….oops.

There was a good selection of runDisney merchandise and I can’t wait to go back tomorrow and do more shopping!

We hurried back to our room because we had a dinner reservation. It was nice to finally stop and sit down to eat, but I was so exhausted! More to come, but it’s bedtime for this girl!

QOTD: Favorite thing about race expos? Or biggest pet peeve?

Good luck at your race! The expo looks a lot sparser than I would have expected; I’m used to Rock ‘n’ Roll expos that are crammed with stuff. I hope you have a great time!

Good luck on your race! I’ve never run a Disney race, but they sound like such a awesome time. My favorite part about race expos in general is how pumped up they get you for the main event. They make you feel really important and remind you that what you’re about to do is really a big deal!

That looks like so much fun! Have an amazing time :-D.

I love expos, but I hate it when their number system is impossible, and the staff don’t know where to look.

I LOVE race expos especially Disney ones! I love the excitement you can feel in the air from all the runners! And I LOVE all the shopping! The only downside would be how crowded it normally is. But I just deal with it! 🙂 Have a blast girl!!!

The slower 1/2 ran the Disneyland Half Marathon for the 1st (and hopefully not last!) time in 2011. The Disneyland expo was much less overwhelming that the Walt Disney World expos, which I still love! It’s great to see all the merchandise, samples and speakers at expos. We’ll be back to WDW in 2013 for Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge & Princess Half Marathon! 🙂

I love this! Does Disney hold a 5K or is only the marathon? I’m not ready for a marathon or even half! I have quite a long ways to go. I’m going to be running my first 5K in December. I’d love to put Disney as my ultimate goal because I’m a little obsessed with Disney! 🙂

I was so tired of dragging around heavy, clunky ba I was so tired of dragging around heavy, clunky bags on my trips! ✈️

So I invested in the Carry-On from @hulkenbag! It’s lightweight, sleek, and glides effortlessly wherever I go. It has 4 pockets and opens from the top, so it’s very easy to grab things in flight! I’ve got room for everything I need and can fit all my devices, snacks, books, and a neck pillow seamlessly inside.

I always pair my Carry-On with the Schlep Stack because who has time to dig through a messy bag? 👜✨

Trust me, Hulken is a total game-changer!

The beaches of Alabama are the kind of place where the days feel slow, the kids are happy, and you don’t feel like you need a vacation after your vacation.

Alabama beaches in the spring just make sense.

2016 was a VERY big year for us. Moving states. Running multiple businesses. Being accused of getting a divorce. 🤣🫣 People are wild, yall.

Looking back they were some hard, wild times and I now know more hard times were ahead for us, but I wouldn’t change any of it. I know it’s part of our story, God had a plan, and there is a reason for it all. Just gotta keep keeping on! ❤️
