Arriving in Disneyland

September 1, 2012 | Disney, running, Travel

We made it we made it! After a long LONG day of traveling, we are finally here! We left the house at 4:45 yesterday morning and drove two hours to the Pensacola airport. Then we flew to Atlanta, barely made our connection to LAX, and after a lot of traffic and waiting for a bus, we made it to Disneyland.

We checked in to our room, and immediately walked to the expo for packet pickup. It was a madhouse so we decided to go back Saturday for shopping.

The finish line!

Disney had tons of awesome volunteers directing you to the right locations to get your bib, shirt, etc. It was super easy to get around!

Packet pickup was downstairs, and goodie bag/t-shirts were upstairs in the actual expo. You can also double check that your timing chip was working as well.

Everything was of course very well organized in true runDisney fashion. There were speakers:

Lots of merchandise:

and great runDisney gear. Which I may have bought a lot of….oops.

There was a good selection of runDisney merchandise and I can’t wait to go back tomorrow and do more shopping!

We hurried back to our room because we had a dinner reservation. It was nice to finally stop and sit down to eat, but I was so exhausted! More to come, but it’s bedtime for this girl!

QOTD: Favorite thing about race expos? Or biggest pet peeve?

Good luck at your race! The expo looks a lot sparser than I would have expected; I’m used to Rock ‘n’ Roll expos that are crammed with stuff. I hope you have a great time!

Good luck on your race! I’ve never run a Disney race, but they sound like such a awesome time. My favorite part about race expos in general is how pumped up they get you for the main event. They make you feel really important and remind you that what you’re about to do is really a big deal!

That looks like so much fun! Have an amazing time :-D.

I love expos, but I hate it when their number system is impossible, and the staff don’t know where to look.

I LOVE race expos especially Disney ones! I love the excitement you can feel in the air from all the runners! And I LOVE all the shopping! The only downside would be how crowded it normally is. But I just deal with it! 🙂 Have a blast girl!!!

The slower 1/2 ran the Disneyland Half Marathon for the 1st (and hopefully not last!) time in 2011. The Disneyland expo was much less overwhelming that the Walt Disney World expos, which I still love! It’s great to see all the merchandise, samples and speakers at expos. We’ll be back to WDW in 2013 for Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge & Princess Half Marathon! 🙂

I love this! Does Disney hold a 5K or is only the marathon? I’m not ready for a marathon or even half! I have quite a long ways to go. I’m going to be running my first 5K in December. I’d love to put Disney as my ultimate goal because I’m a little obsessed with Disney! 🙂

Since turning forty, I’ve been all about simple changes that help me feel strong, healthy, and confident — inside and out.

Adding Organixx Collagen to my coffee each morning has been one of the easiest ways to support my skin, hair, and joints while juggling busy mom life. It blends right in and makes me feel like I’m doing something good for myself every single day.

Because for me, it’s not just about looking good — it’s about feeling my best, staying active, and showing up for the people and moments that matter most.
Radiance starts from within, and @organixxco helps make it part of my everyday routine.

I turned 40 today. 🎉 Hitting a milestone like t I turned 40 today. 🎉 Hitting a milestone like this has me reflecting—not just on what I’ve accomplished, but on who I’m becoming.

I’ve always been driven to achieve, to push, to prove. But lately, I’ve been learning to celebrate presence over performance, connection over perfection.

Today wasn’t about checking a box or hitting a goal—it was about pausing, feeling grateful, and eating a ridiculous amount of cake with people I love. And honestly? That feels like growth.

Here’s to 40: more aligned, more grounded, and still a little extra. 😉

Turning 40 tomorrow. 🎂 Big milestones always Turning 40 tomorrow. 🎂

Big milestones always make me pause and ask:
What am I proud of?
What needs to shift?
Am I becoming the woman I want to be?

💡 As an Enneagram 3, I’ve always been wired to achieve — and for a long time, that meant shaping myself into whatever version I thought people would like best.

There are tables where it’s clear I’m not welcome — and that used to wreck me.
But at 40? I don’t do cliques. I don’t do shrinking or contorting to be accepted. 👀

I’ll always be kind. I’ll always be respectful. But I’m done dragging a chair to tables that were never built for me.

I’m moving over. Making space.
Creating my own table.
