ASICS Ambassador

October 1, 2015 | asics, blogging, fitness, health, running

Hey guys! As you can guess by the title of this post, I have some great news! I have been selected by my favorite brands ASICS to be a 2015-2016 ASICS ambassador! It’s been hard keeping the secret for a month but I am finally allowed to spill it!

asics2

There are going to be some exciting things coming up this year with ASICS that I will be involved in, and I will share them as they come, but think product reviews, giveaways, I will get the chance to go to events, etc. Right know just know I AM SO EXCITED!

asics ambassador

ASICS was the very first shoe that I bought when I got fitted for running shoes back in 2010.

I tried other brands throughout the years, but ended up with many different foot and leg injuries. Why on earth I thought it was a good idea to mess with a good thing, I will never know.

I think I have worn about every color of ASICS shoe there is, and I love all the options!

I have a high arch and I slightly over pronate, but I also need a bit of a wider toe box. I guess I have high maintenance feet?

I am currently LOVING the Gel Quantum 360’s!

ASICS not only has amazing shoes, but they have other great workout apparel as well.

I had the privilege of running the LA marathon with team ASICS this past March, and while it was a tough race in 90 degree weather, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I may have only been just a little over 2 months postpartum when they emailed me asking if I wanted to run, but I of course accepted! I was on a high for days. I couldn’t believe the brand of the shoes that I was already running in wanted to work with me. I had reviewed shoes for them in the past, but this was big.

I felt so blessed to meet some of my running heroes and hang out in LA with such an amazing and generous brand.

I think one of my favorite things about ASICS is that they ā€œgetā€ bloggers. I have worked with many different brands over the past almost six years, and some did a great job at relating to and working with bloggers, and some not so much. ASICS seriously knocks. it. out. of. the. park. It has been my pleasure to promote them, it makes me want to work hard for them because they have done so much for me. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store, but I know that no matter what it will be epic with ASICS.

I have been in Mizino and Brooks forever. I have a friend who swears by ASICS. I have lower to normal arches and pronate, with feet turning in. What ASICS shoe should I look into when I go to a running store?

I slightly over pronate and I love the GT 2000 and the Gel quantum. Good luck!

Congrats on becoming an Asics Ambassador! How exciting! My first paor of running shoes were the Gel Nimbus 13’s. The 14’s didn’t work as well for me so I swapped to the Brooks Ghost 6. Then the Brooks Ghost 7 and 8 are to narrow in the toe box. I’m back to the Asics Gel Nimbus 17 now. I love them! I will probably try to stock up before the new model comes out.

I have been having a really hard time with shoes this go-around. I’ve worn Brooks Adrenaline for a long time but last year’s just didn’t make my feet happy. I too have difficult feet to fit…and usually end up in men’s to get the width I need. My arches are high but fall easily so I need that support too. I tried on ASICS but my store didn’t stock wide width. Maybe I’ll try to order some online and see if they work.

I get the wide width in women’s Asics and it gives me the room I need. Try it out next time!

Congrats Heather! What an exciting honor! I’ve been a loyal Mizuno wearer since I was fit for shoes just over two years ago. They provide the right amount of support that I need.

I have high maintenance feet as well. I’ve worn ASICS for many years, but I did stray in 2013 because ASICS made too many changes. Now I’m back and I love the shoes I’m wearing.

I’m actually not running NYC (I did LA marathon in March so they picked other folks to do NYC) but hopefully will be running something equally as fun in 2016!

We may not have gotten to travel often until I was a teenager, but we still had a blast, and they even took us to a @spectrumresorts property! (Ad)

As an adult, I am so grateful to be able to return the favor. To see them laugh and play with my daughter like they did with me. It’s one of those special full circle moments, those core memories that will stay with me forever. 🄹

Staying at @turquoiseplaceofficial makes things so easy, too. The condos are huge and we easily all fit without being on top of each other. There’s plenty to do with pools, a waterslide, lazy river, the beach, movie nights, kids activities, food, and more. ✨

It truly is the perfect place for a multigenerational vacation. So if you are looking for a great place to go with your parents, grandkids, aunts, uncles, or cousins, this is it. šŸ’–

We take her on these trips and cruises hoping she’ll soak in the adventure, the beauty, and maybe even the food from places different from where we live… but to her, nothing beats a corn dog and mac & cheese. šŸ§€

And honestly, that’s the best reminder for us, that joy doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to be yours. šŸ›³āœØ

When I was 12, I was worried a lot… worried about failing, scared of what people would think of me, and of not fitting in or being ā€œcoolā€.
I turned 40 this year and have been spending time trying to figure out exactly who I really am with all expectations stripped away. I don’t love the term ā€œfinding yourselfā€, but here I feel like it fits. ✨

Maybe finding yourself means going back to being 12.… and being myself without being scared. Heather at 12 would never believe this version of me… but I think she’d be proud. šŸ’›āœØ

We couldn’t think of a more fun place to celebrate that on Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas.

She started the day with presents, then hours and hours in the sun on the island, followed by cake and singing at dinner, the tween club, and fireworks at sea! (They were for pirate night but we said they were birthday fireworks!)

Happy birthday to the most fierce, kind, competitive, loyal, funny, and beautiful little girl I know. 🩷 Never change who you are and stop growing up so fast! So. Blessed to have the best title there is, Emma Kate’s mom. šŸ’–
