🎅🏻 We just got back from the opening weekend

🎅🏻 We just got back from the opening weekend of the Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort, and YALL. It was so much fun! (ad)

🎄 Here are 3 not to miss holiday happenings:

1.) Grinchmas in Seuss landing: You can not only see a show with the Grinch in it called “The Grinchmas™ Who-liday Spectacular live show”, but you can also meet him. He was really fun and had us sing with him, (really!) and then told us to “get out” at the end. You can take our own photos or purchase professional ones. The Whos from Whoville are also wandering around town and will chat with you about the holidays! We talked about tater tots and the big feast! Also make sure you see the area at night, it’s lit up really nicely with decorations.

2.)The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts™ Castle: This show runs multiple times a night starting at dusk in Hogsmeade and has scenes from the movies that will really get you into the holiday spirit. I just love the technology on this one!

3.)The Universal Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s: This runs nightly, and was my favorite. Be sure to get a spot early! We got one a little over an hour in advance on the streets of New York near the Christmas tree and had a great view. I loved the floats with my favorite Universal characters from movies like Minions and Shrek. The dancers, and huge balloons were also beautiful. At the end, Santa himself lights the Christmas tree, and it starts to snow! ❄️

Universal Orlando Resort has so much to offer to bring you holiday cheer this year. There is still time to book so hurry and grab some dates before these events end!

-18+ voyages: 💃🏻 Every other line has kid friendly ships, which…as a parent is great, but it’s nice to have just one place where they aren’t. 😂 We love those kiddos but a truly relaxing vacation works best for me when I’m not having to mom for a few days.

-Tech savvy staterooms/tablet controls: Each stateroom has a tablet that controls the curtains, lights, tv, AND where you can request things like water, ice, getting your room cleaned, etc.

Let’s make milk punch with bourbon for the holidays with @mayfielddairy milk! (ad) 🥃 🎄

I just love hosting, especially for the holidays. Every year, we host Christmas eve dinner at our house, and every year I make a special cocktail for my family to enjoy. I keep it a secret, and it’s become such a fun tradition to see which drink I am whipping up for the year. This year I am making Christmas milk punch with Mayfield milk (you can also substitute Mayfield cream or half and half!) 🥛

It’s not really about the drink for me, but about the gathering and memories created around it. I love how food and drink can bring people together! ❤️

When I create my special holiday drinks I don’t just use any ingredients. I love using Mayfield products because they are farmer owned, right here in my community. Mayfield products are super fresh and high quality. Most milk gets from the farm to your fridge in less than 48 hours! It doesn’t get much fresher than that, yall! 😋

Check out the recipe below to see what we are having on Christmas eve, and consider making a festive drink for your family this holiday season, with Mayfield products of course!

Christmas milk punch w/ bourbon:

Ingredients:
1.5 ounces bourbon or brandy
0.5 oz amber rum
2 ounces Mayfield milk, half & half, or cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. powdered sugar
Dash of grated nutmeg
Ice

Instructions:
-In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour in the bourbon, rum, milk product, vanilla and powdered sugar.
-Shake vigorously until well chilled, about 30 seconds.
-Strain into a short glass or festive small goblet. (I like to add ice to my glass too!)
-Dust with nutmeg and serve cold.

The resort in Nashville has so many family friendly activities we didn’t even do everything in the 2 nights we were there. (So you will not be bored!)

Our favorites were ice skating, snow tubing, and of course ICE! featuring Frosty the Snowman™! There are 2 million pounds of ice, crafted by 40 master ice artisans from Harbin, China. They are so talented! ⛄️

A County Christmas boasts around 5 million lights, visits with Santa, and beautiful seasonal displays all over the resort. You will be fully immersed in the beauty and festive atmosphere.

Start a new family tradition and head to Nashville before it’s all over in early January. Which activity would you like best? 🎅🏻
