Fitness Hobbies To Share With Your Child

January 10, 2022 | health

Finding enough time for fitness is difficult enough, let alone when you have children. But one way you can make it work is to try something you and your kids can do together.

There are a lot of benefits to this. First, it helps you spend quality time with your kids, but you’ll also save time in your schedule that you would’ve spent doing separate activities. It’s also fun to share a hobby and common interest, giving you an activity you can develop together.

Want to enjoy some fitness time with your child? Here are some ideas for active hobbies you can do together.

Try a class

Taking a class together can be a great way to spend time with your kids. And the good news, is there are a lot of classes for you to choose from. You could find a location that provides classes for all ages, or begin something suitable for your individual age groups. A fast-paced activity like kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is something exciting for them to get involved in, and you could try it yourself too! Explore different classes that are nearby that you and your child may be able to enjoy together.

Go running

Running is a fantastic form of exercise, and it’s free to do! It’s the perfect activity to help you stay fit while on vacation and something that you can start doing with your child once they’re old enough. A little run in the morning or after school can be easier to fit into both of your routines, helping you enjoy some daily activity to keep you strong and healthy (and get that energy out of wiggly kids!)

Family hour at the gym

There are a lot of gyms that have a ‘family hour’, as well as those that offer a children’s rate. Taking your kid to the gym can be an effective way of helping them stay active, giving you time to train too. It’s not always easy to juggle working out with taking care of your children, but this will mean you get to bring them along and help them develop some long-lasting fitness habits as well.

Swimming

Taking the kids swimming is something that many parents do to help keep their kids active and healthy, while also ensuring they have fun. Spending time swimming together will keep you fit, but will also be easy to fit into your schedule. If you can get the whole family or another adult on board, you could even sneak off to swim some laps for a bit while the rest of the family play in the pool.

Daily activity is important, and while your kids will usually get to burn energy running around and playing, it can be a lot harder for you to fit it in. Finding activities that you and your children can do together (or at the same time) makes it easier for you to find time for your fitness routine, and help keep your kids active too!

#ad Turns out my patio didn’t need a full makeover #ad Turns out my patio didn’t need a full makeover… it just needed the right planters 🌿

I walked into @loweshomeimprovement (garden center = instant mood boost) and found these allen + roth & planters that look designer but are actually budget-friendly. Exactly the kind of upgrade I love: big impact without the big price tag.

Swipe to see the before → after because WOW. New planters + fresh plants completely brought this space back to life. I love how versatile they are too, perfect for patios, porches, or even indoors. If your outdoor space is looking a little… tired (same 😅), this is your sign to refresh it for spring.

Grab them in-store at Lowe’s or through the link in my bio 🔗

Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Spr Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World! ☀️

Things we love about staying in a 2 BR villa as opposed to a “regular” hotel room:
-Tons of space (we shared with my parents)
-full kitchen/full fridge and freezer
-washer and dryer
-full living room and dining area
-multiple bathrooms

Things we ❤️ about this resort in general:
-Can walk to Disney Springs from certain buildings
-Multiple pools and slides
-cheaper than most other villas
-Rooms seem more spacious than some villas
-Peaceful/golf course/lots of landscaping/walking paths
-Has a spa!

It’s Friday. Jesus is praying. Peter’s a sleeping. It’s Friday.
Jesus is praying.
Peter’s a sleeping.
Judas is betraying.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
Pilate’s struggling.
The council is conspiring.
The crowd is vilifying.
They don’t even know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are running
Like sheep without a shepherd.
Mary’s crying.
Peter is denying.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s a comin’.

It’s Friday.
The Romans beat my Jesus.
They robe him in scarlet.
They crown him with thorns.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
See Jesus walking to Calvary.
His blood dripping.
His body stumbling.
And his spirit’s burdened.
But you see, it’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The world’s winning.
People are sinning.
And evil’s grinning.

It’s Friday.
The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands to the cross.
They nail my Savior’s feet to the cross.
And then they raise him up next to criminals.

It’s Friday.
But let me tell you something,
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are questioning.
What has happened to their King.
And the Pharisees are celebrating
That their scheming has been achieved.
But they don’t know It’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
He’s hanging on the cross.
Feeling forsaken by his Father.
Left alone and dying.
Can nobody save him?
Ooooh It’s Friday.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The earth trembles.
The sky grows dark.
My King yields his spirit.
It’s Friday.
Hope is lost.
Death has won.
Sin has conquered and Satan’s just a laughin’.

It’s Friday.
Jesus is buried.
A soldier stands guard.
And a rock is rolled into place.
But it’s Friday. It is only Friday.
Sunday is a comin’! ☀️

For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to v For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to visit family, and it was the peaceful, non hurried time I didn’t know I needed.

We fished, collected chicken eggs, rode golf carts, had target practice, went for walks, played games, danced, laughed, stayed up late, and watched the sunrise. EK lived her best country girl life, casting like a pro and learning how to unhook the fish. She hung out in the chicken coop, and stayed outside all day long. ☀️❤️

One day we had a mini family reunion and were blessed with perfect weather. I wanted to slow down time and make it last longer, but it just means we have to do it again. 🥰 So thankful for so much love in my life!
