We recently returned from an amazing weekend at one of our faves, Gaylord Opryland in Nashville. Now that we live in Knoxville, it’s a quick 2.5 hour drive, I am so pumped we are so close to the fun now! I wanted to share some of the activities we took part in while on the property during Summer of More. The great thing is, even if you choose to not do any of these, or just do a couple, there is SO much to do here, we never leave “the bubble” once we get out of the car! Check out some of these Gaylord Opryland Summer of More highlights:
Pirate and Princess Academy
At this interactive show, you get to hear the story of the Princess Magnolia and the the Sword Mistress. Your kids can take an official princess oath and join the royal court or the pirate pledge to become an honorary member of the captain’s crew. Great for younger kids, I would say ages 8 and under would enjoy this one!
The Shiny Stash Scavenger Hunt
Emma Kate is ALL about a scavenger hunt, and the atriums are the perfect (air conditioned!) place to do it! Join the hunt and recover the kingdom’s most precious treasures hidden by The Princess throughout the resort. It’s great for any age, and there is a prize at the end!
The Captain’s Hidden Treasure Escape Room
This was a first for us and SO fun (albeit a little stressful for my competitive self!) You and your friends or family will walk into a secret hideaway and have 30 minutes to solve puzzles and escape. We made it with only SEVEN seconds left yall! We had a great time working together as a family to find the clues and solve the puzzles!
Battle for the Blue Diamond Boat Ride
The Delta atrium is a favorite, and how cool to have a boat ride in the middle of the hotel? Be part of the action and enjoy the show as the pirates and sword mistresses invade the Delta River. There is a show followed by a ride around the river where we also got to see the elta atrium light and fountain show!
Treasure Trove Art Studio
The art studio is so cool in and of itself! Great photo opps, and then you can let your imagination take flight as you choose your craft. We picked canvases to paint and it was so much fun!
Soundwaves
Soundwaves is the indoor/outdoor water park located at the resort. Please note that you must book a package that includes Soundwaves with your visit, as it is not automatically added just because you are staying at the resort. We LOVE Soundwaves. Wave pool, tube slides, splash pads, lazy river, food, adults only pools, what’s not to love? You could easily just spend the whole weekend at the water park (your kids would probably be thrilled!) I love that even if it’s rainy, you can still enjoy the indoor portion. Also, lots to do for kids of all ages! Emma Kate’s current faves are the lazy rivers, tube slides, and the wave pool. (I have to agree with her on the tube slides and wave pool for sure!) Towels are provided which is a nice touch, and you can even rent cabanas for an additional fee, but don’t wait, they do sell out.
Thanks for reading my Gaylord Opryland Summer of More highlights. If you have questions feel free to ask! Book your stay now before the Summer of More is over in early September!
