New Naked Juice and Giveaway

June 18, 2015 | blogging, fitness, food, Giveaway, health

Mornings in my house can be pretty hectic. Everyone is trying to get out the door to start their day, and especially on days when the baby goes to daycare I don’t always have time to sit down and eat breakfast. As a multi tasker, it works better for me to gets things done WHILE making sure I get some breakfast, so grabbing a Naked juice before I jump in the car works for me a lot of mornings. DSC_0048

They are also a great and refreshing mid morning or afternoon snack. I like to make sure it is good and cold and then enjoy one as I cool down from a run, especially in this summer heat we have been experiencing. I have been drinking Naked juice for years, so I was really excited to learn they had some new flavors coming out. As a lover of almond milk and berry flavored things, I knew I would be all about the new berry almond nutmilk flavor, and I was correct. It. Is. Delicious. DSC_0055

Each bottle of Berry Almond Nutmilk contains: 26 blueberries, 8 blackberries, 2 raspberries, 1 strawberry, 24 almonds, 1 3/4 apples and 1/3 banana. Berry Almond Nutmilk is gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free. This non-dairy smoothie blends together fruit, almond milk and soy protein to deliver 11g of plant protein per bottle.

Naked Juice has a deep tradition of goodness. Since its founding in 1983, they have been committed to creating the most nutritious beverages. Naked Juice has no added sugars or preservatives, and is perfect for on-the-go active individuals who know it’s important to incorporate fruits and veggies into their diet, but doesn’t always have the time to chop, slice, cook or blend. (hello, this is me!) I admittedly have problems getting in the correct amount of fruits and veggies in a day, so, if you can’t eat ‘em, drink ‘em! DSC_0062

The kind people at Naked gave me some coupons for FREE Naked drinks and smoothies so I am passing them on to you guys for a giveaway! THREE people will win TWO coupons each so you can try the new flavors for yourselves. Please follow the instructions below to enter: Naked Juice Giveaway

I love naked juice, it was one of the safe smoothie options when I had to avoid whey for a while. Thankfully I no longer have to avoid it, but they are still very tasty. 🙂

Overnight Oatmeal is my go-to quick breakfast. I add everything to a mason jar the night before (usually almond milk, oats, chia and whatever fresh fruit I have in the house -the different options are endless) and then in the morning I’m able to just grab it and go.

Just as a FYI – Naked Juice (owned by Pepsico) recently settled a lawsuit in which they could no longer call their products “natural” due to the nature of the synthetic additives and boosters they used in their drinks.

Here are some links that go into more detail about the terms of the suit and settlement:

36 grams of sugar is a lot. That’s close to what a can of soda contains.

    • Heather says

      June 18, 2015 at 11:37 am

It is more than I would prefer, but I even like to drink soda sometimes, so I can’t knock that. 🙂

yum, I’d like to try that! I like some sort of ready made smoothie as a quick breakfast. Naked juices are yum.

I usually make a similar shake before work in the morning by just popping some protein powder, almond milk and berries on the blender. It really takes no time at all and is a heck of a lot less sugar than this drink here. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I love my sweets but I would rather see them in cupcake form!

    • Heather says

      June 18, 2015 at 9:00 pm

We def make a lot of smoothies around here, but sometimes I’m literally running out the door so it’s just easier, and sometimes hubby is still asleep. 😉 I do agree about the cupcakes!

I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just o I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just okay.” Like, fine in a pinch… but never something I craved. 👀

But then this little picnic happened—just me, my girl, and a sweet treat we both loved enough to fight over the last bite. 😅

We’ve been trying to be more mindful with food choices lately (especially with summer travel coming up), and I grabbed these So Delicious treats at Kroger kind of on a whim. The new packaging caught my eye, but it was the taste that totally surprised us. Creamy. Indulgent. No weird aftertaste. And no, we’re not fully dairy-free—and we still loved them.

It’s one of those little swaps that doesn’t feel like giving anything up.

And that? That’s a win for both of us. ✨@So_Delicious

🚨 Homeschool decision!! If you have been aroun 🚨 Homeschool decision!!

If you have been around here since Christmas time, then you know we pulled Emma Kate out of her private school after the first semester and put her in a hybrid homeschool for the spring. The main reason being we wanted more absences than the school allowed.

What is a hybrid? In our case, she went to a school all day 3 days a week, and we taught her at home two days a week.

It seemed like the best of both worlds, not having absences count since we were also her teachers, being able to stay home some, sleep in, and travel.

Well, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. For one, the school we sent her to ended up not being what we thought. We were told being absent wouldn’t be a problem, but it became clear very early on her teacher was not a fan and she was not kind or accommodating to Emma Kate. There’s a lot of other reasons we didn’t blown the school I won’t go into. (If you are local and considering hybrid feel free to dm me and I will share my concerns and grievances.)

Teaching your kid is hard. There were lots of tears and frustrations, and she got bored since Bobby and I also work from home/I’m not a stay at hoke mom. We couldn’t just sit with her all day and teach her with our crazy long hours owning two businesses.

It was tough to keep a schedule and while getting to travel a lot was great, she didn’t thrive on not having a routine and struggled with the randomness of everything.

She is also a very social only child who missed her friends and also wants to play sports for her school.

In the end while there were a lot of pros to hybrid homeschool, the cons outweighed them for us so we are returning to her old school in the fall.

Am I glad we did it? Yes! I always would have wondered otherwise and now we know. We will still be pulling her out of school some to travel in the fall, just not as much.

If you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments below and I will be happy to answer the best I can! 🩷
