Best New Orleans Hotels | The Higgins Hotel

July 16, 2021 | Hotels, Travel

When looking for New Orleans hotels, look no further than the Higgins hotel.

New Orleans Hotels Higgins Hotel

Going to New Orleans can be a lot of fun, but you can be overwhelmed with choices since there are so many New Orleans hotels. Instead of spending days researching, I did the work for you on my last trip. Trust me when I say you want to stay at the Higgins hotel!

You are going to learn why this is the best of the New Orleans hotels, and you aren’t going to want to stay anywhere else!

This post is about New Orleans hotels, specifically the Higgins hotel.

Best New Orleans Hotels

Why you are going to want to stay at the Higgins hotel:

Beautifully appointed guest rooms

I felt so fancy in the gorgeous decorated New Orleans-style guest room! We had a corner deluxe room with a great view of the WWII Museum right across the street. We had a spacious bathroom complete with a coffee bar and makeup vanity, as well as a gorgeous tub with sweeping views of the city.

The bedroom had huge windows, and we loved having a king bed! A desk also came in handy since my husband had to work and brought his desktop computer. There was a large TV, a mini-refrigerator, and even a tablet by the bedside that acted as an alarm clock had information about the hotel, and even was a remote for the TV!

The room also had a great full-length mirror which is a nice touch I love, and the closet was large with a safe, extra blanket and pillow, and iron. You could also get bathrobes from the front desk upon request!

Amazing Food and Drinks

We were in for quite a treat when we had drinks and small plates from Rosies on the Roof! Named after Rosie the Riveter, this rooftop spot was stunning and fun, but what really blew me away was the taste of the food and the presentation of the drinks.

The next two photos are of hush puppies and beignets. We had other items too….they were ALL amazing! They had things like fish tacos, crab beignets, and Brussel sprouts that tasted like candy, and guys, I don’t normally eat Brussel sprouts!

We were able to go up to the rooftop bar before it was open one day to snag some photos with no people in them. Check out how cool this space is! You can see the WWII Museum, and also the Superdome off in the distance! (Who Dat!)

There is also a great bar and lounge area downstairs in the lobby called Kilroy’s that is open in the evenings. I love the decor, such a great throwback to the 1940’s with art, colors, and more. Very cool.

There is also a restaurant that was not open yet at the time of publication, but I was told they were trying to open it very soon! Here is a peek inside.

There is a great little place called Provisions that is open though. They serve coffee and sell snacks and to-go type food and pastries as well as WWII gift items you can also find at the museum.

On top of all of this, there are many places to just sit and hang out the Higgins hotel if you want to chat with a friend, grab a cup of coffee, or even get some work done.

Doubles as a conference center

The last thing I wanted to mention about the Higgins hotel that is different from other New Orleans hotels is that it doubles as a conference center. I went upstairs off the lobby and took a peek into some of the beautiful rooms. They host everything from meetings to weddings, and it would be a beautiful place to have either!

Across the street from the WWII Museum

Ok history buffs, listen up! If you want to be right next to the museum, you have to stay at the Higgins hotel! It was so nice and convenient to just go down the elevator and step across into the museum lobby. The great thing is that the museum sells multi-day tickets so you can take your time and do a few hours one day and then a few the next so that you don’t miss anything. The museum is a showstopper, and I could have spent days in there with so much to read and take in. You don’t want to miss this one! The below picture is the view out our window, so you can see just how close we were.

I do hope we get to go back and visit the Higgins hotel another time, I would have loved to have spent more time exploring and relaxing and just enjoying the beautiful surroundings!

This post was all about the Higgins hotel, which is one of the best New Orleans hotels!

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️

This one is great for busy folks who want to make a “special” drink without too much fuss. 🎄

It’s literally just water frozen in the bottom of a glass with some rosemary taped in it. I waited a few hours the poured in some Prosecco and added in edible glitter (you can use multiple colors!) pretty and delicious, and keeps your drink cold! Cheers! 🥂 ❄️
