Now We’re Cruisin!

April 7, 2011 | Uncategorized

HOLA! I’ts Friday eve! I hope you are all doing well. I was having a great morning and then something happened that rattled me, and I shouldn’t have let it…it really upset me and ruined my day, and I REFUSE to let that happen today!

I have some GREAT news for Disney fans! yesterday, Disney announced the rest of the 2012 DCL (Disney cruise like) itineraries, and they are a doozie! Lots of new fun to be had! Ok, so check this out:

New York Sailings
Beginning May 25, 2012, the Disney Magic® will sail a total of 20 cruises from New York.
* 8-night Bahamian cruises include a day at Disney’s Castaway Cay and a stop at Port Canaveral, gateway to the Walt Disney World® Resort. As part of this itinerary, your Client will receive a one-day Park Hopper® Ticket and roundtrip transportation between the ship and resort.
* 5-night Canadian/New England cruises will visit Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Saint John, New Brunswick.
* 2-night cruises are perfect for Clients looking for a quick getaway at sea over a weekend.

Seattle Sailings
Beginning May 28, 2012, the Disney Wonder® will sail a total of 14 cruises to Alaska from the Port of Seattle, Wash.
* 7-night Alaskan cruises will call on Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan plus Victoria, British Columbia.

Galveston Sailings
Beginning Sept. 22, 2012, the Disney Magic will sail 12 cruises from the Port of Galveston, Texas.
* 7-night Western Caribbean cruises will visit Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, as well as Grand Cayman.

Los Angeles Sailings
In addition to 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises, the Disney Wonder will set sail on Disney’s first-ever voyage to Hawai‘i on April 29, 2012.
* 15-night Hawaiian cruise departs from the Port of Los Angeles and includes stops at Hilo; Kahului, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; Nawiliwili, Kauai and Ensenada, Mexico.
* 7-night Pacific Coast cruises will call on San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico.

The Disney Dream™ will continue to sail 3-, 4- and 5-night Bahamian cruises. The new Disney Fantasy™ will offer Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, beginning with the maiden voyage on March 31, 2012. Sail dates for both ships are now available through December 2012.

WHOAH that’s a lot of information, I know. SO basically these sailings are fairly limited, and you can start booking them TOMORROW! So those of you living in New York, Texas, and LA, DCL is coming for you! A lot of people will be happy to know the Alaskan cruises are now going out of Seattle for next summer, that will save a lot of $$ on airfare for people!

If you have never been on a Disney Cruise you are totally missing out. I was even skeptical until I went, and I am definitely a convert! I don’t even have kids and it’s awesome. Disney does such a great job of having adults only areas on the ship and on Castaway Cay, I honestly didn’t even see kids all that much! And, if you have kids, Disney has THE BEST kids clubs around. I have seen kids CRYING because they didn’t want to leave the kids club and go with mom and dad. The clubs are open late, and they will even pick kids up at the restaurants midway through dinner so they don’t have to sit through a long boring dinner.

Ok sorry about that, I could ramble on and on and on about DCL, if you ever want me to just ask. If you would like a quote for a cruise from now until the end of 2012 I would be more than happy to give you a free no obligation quote. Just e mail me at heather AT travelwiththemagic DOT com. Of If you would like a Disneyworld quote, non Disney quote, anything! Also Disneyworld has some discounts on deluxe hotels out for summer right now!

Ok moving on, I promise!

So last night I made Bobby do my 6 weeks in 6 pack video with me since he was making fun of me for being sore. heh. This morning the first thing I said to him was “are you sore?!” He said he was. YAY! Now maybe he will take my DVD more seriously I know he was always proud of me but it was still fun to torture him.

I am starting to see a difference in my body from doing the DVD. It’s a SMALL difference, but I am starting to get a LITTLE bit of ab definition. (NOT a 6 pack though!) hopefully that will become more obvious in the next 2.5 weeks. I would hate to not be able to post my before and after photos because there is no difference!

Ok, I have to go to Target and spend all my money, then clean bathrooms. Oh joy! (and of course do my ab workout!) I hope everyone has a great day!

QOTD: Does your significant other workout with you?

My wrist are so weak that plank kills me!!! I am in the same boat as you but IDK if I can get him to join me 🙂

I am SO excited about the Canadian cruises…that is, as long as they aren’t full by the time I’m able to book! LOL Yay for new exciting iternaries! I think the NY to CC cruise is interesting….that’s a lot of “at sea” days with only 2 port stops…curious to see how that will work!

    • Heather says

      April 7, 2011 at 5:56 pm

there are a few that have a lot of sea days…I think i would get bored after 2. Thats why I liked the 7 nighter that did cozumel, ket west, grand cayman, and CC with 2 sea days. it was perfect for us!

I’m not that familiar with Disney cruises. Is this the first time they’ve left from NY? It would be so awesome if they kept that up. I’m not going on a cruise anytime soon, but it would be so much cheaper for us to be able to leave from NY instead of having to fly down to Florida.
And to answer your question, most of the time I’d rather exercise alone.

Yes! This is the first time it will br leaving out of NYC! Trying to make it easier for some!

We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we just needed a break from the noise.
What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️

One of our favorite family activities in Pigeon Forge because you can snow tube year-round, rain or shine, without worrying about the weather outside.

My daughter could do the tubing hill over and over, and the indoor snow play area makes it even more fun. Honestly such a good break from the summer heat. Plus, it’s super close to nearby attractions like Dollywood and several mountain coasters.

Here is my favorite in park Disneyland character e Here is my favorite in park Disneyland character experience: The Plaza Inn character breakfast. Here are a few things to know:

✨ Meet Minnie before you even enter the restaurant and get photos with her + a photopass photographer.
✨ Food is all you can eat. Minnie waffles, bacon, eggs, pastries, fruit, and more!
✨ Multiple characters visit your table throughout the meal.
✨ Reservations are a must and can book up quickly!

This was such a fun way to start a park day and meet several characters without spending part of the day waiting in character lines.

Getting in a walk or run when I can. Actually drinking my water. Sticking to a skincare routine instead of overthinking it. Paying attention to my hair and scalp instead of just throwing it up and moving on. Nothing extreme, just consistency in the basics.

I’ve also been using Mochi Health for personalized skincare and hair support, and it’s made it way easier to stay on track without guessing what my skin or hair needs.

If you want to try it, there’s $40 off your first month through the link in my bio. @joinmochi #joinmochi mochihealth

Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro took part in Cork to Fork on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, and every bite felt like a love letter to local flavor. From bourbon-glazed pork belly to a warm cinnamon-bourbon bread pudding that honestly didn’t stand a chance at our table… this was one of those meals you remember.

Mountain views, chef-driven dishes, and whiskey worked right into the menu in the best way. 😋
