Number 13

September 3, 2012 | Disney, running, Running Skirts, Travel

We did it! Half marathon number 13 for me, and I got my coast to coast medal. The Disneyland half marathon was a success!

Don’t worry, there will be much more to tell about the race including a full recap, but we only have a few days in Disneyland and I want to enjoy them, but also be sure I do a good job with my recap, so it will come when I get back home. Don’t worry, I took plenty of pictures to go along with it!

Be sure to check out my Disneyland expo recap posts one and two.

Did you hear? my friend Cindy from Running Skirts WON the half marathon for the women! Her awesome sister Christy came in 10th, I am so proud of both of them, what an accomplishment!

Cindy on the left, Christy on the right. Great ladies, and super speedy!

Don’t forget to enter my Giveaway!

QOTD: have you ever placed in a race?

Lucky number 13…one of my fave numbers. You definitely celebrated it in style. I was talking to my husband last night and came up with the idea of making a Disney race happen for 2013. We are now only 5ish hours away from Disneyland. Been to Disney World many times, but never Disneyland. Maybe we can make it happen this upcoming year. Looks like Tinkerbell is sold out already so I’ll have to stay patient for an entire year. Enjoy your time out in Cali!

Congratulations! I placed once in a very small race. There are too many speedy women in my age group around here! Maybe I will move up to the next one before they do. 😉

    Congrats!
I’ve placed 3rd (woman) in a 10K once but had to miss the award and ceremony due to my house inspection. I think I only ran that fast because I had to hurry back to an appointment and I didn’t want to DNF.

Staying in an A-Frame cabin by Zook cabins at Val Staying in an A-Frame cabin by Zook cabins at Valley Bear Farms felt like stepping into a real-life Pinterest board 🤍 (ad)

These architectural gems mix rustic charm with modern design—think soaring wood ceilings, giant picture windows, and a dreamy soaker tub that makes you never want to leave. 😍

We even brought our dogs along (yes, it’s dog-friendly!) and watched deer wander by through the trees. 🐾

Valley Bear Farms is tucked in the mountains of North Carolina, surrounded by peaceful forest views and plenty to explore. The property has hiking trails, a cozy general store, and other on-site amenities that make it feel like a little mountain village all its own. ⛰️

If you’re craving a nature-filled, beautifully designed getaway where you can truly unwind, these A-Frame cabins are it.👍🏻

The Cosmo JrTrack 5 Smartwatch has been the perfect in-between for us — she can call and text the people I approve, I can see where she is with GPS, and it has school mode, SOS, activity tracking, and even a little camera she loves.

We got the Holiday Bundle with the screen protector and LaunchPad stand, and it honestly just makes the whole thing easier.

🎄 POV: Our Weekend Holiday Getaway in Pigeon Forge 🎄 POV: Our Weekend Holiday Getaway in Pigeon Forge
There’s just something about the holidays in the Smoky Mountains — the lights, the laughter, the togetherness — it all feels extra magical. #sponsored

Our first stop was Dolly Parton’s Stampede, the world’s most visited dinner attraction, and it’s easy to see why. The pre-show in the Stampede Saloon had us singing along to country and Christmas classics before we sat down for a four-course feast that could rival any holiday dinner. 🐴

Then the arena came alive with 32 magnificent horses, trick riders, and dancers bringing the spirit of the season to life with a friendly North vs. South Pole rivalry, toys that come alive, and even Santa arriving in a horse-drawn sleigh. Pure holiday joy from start to finish! 🎅🏻

Next up was the Titanic Museum Attraction, beautifully transformed into an Elegant Edwardian Christmas, giving Titanic the Christmas voyage she never got. We each received a boarding pass with the name of a real passenger, explored the Grand Staircase, and even touched the icy 28-degree water. The interactive exhibits made history come alive, and it was such an emotional, unforgettable experience for all of us.

And to end the weekend, we dove into adventure at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show. Led by Captain Blackbeard himself, the Crimson and Sapphire crews battled for treasure with acrobatics, mermaids, fire stunts, and even a sea lion! Between the four-course pirate feast and the jaw-dropping stunts, it was nonstop fun and the perfect grand finale to our Pigeon Forge weekend. 🏴‍☠️

This trip reminded me that time together really is the best gift. Add Pigeon Forge and these incredible attractions to your holiday must-do list this season. ❤️

Comment “Pigeon Forge” and I’ll send you links to grab your tickets before they sell out!
