Orlando Sentinel Dopey Story

January 11, 2014 | Uncategorized

Good morning folks! By the time most of you read this I will be DONE with the half marathon and will only have one day left of racing. Halleluiah!

I normally don’t post on Saturdays anymore, but this is something I just had to share. I was Interviewed for a story for the Orlando Sentinel about running Dopey, then Thursday, I met with a photographer and we shot video and photos in the pouring rain for the paper.

Congrats Heather! I just watched the video and read the article – great job! I would love to run a Disney race but due to the travel cost from Canada it may never happen. It just wouldn’t be fair if mommy went and left her 3 Princesses at home, so if I did go it would have to be a whole family event. I have been wanting to do the Goofy challenge (ane now the DOpey challenge) for over 10 yrs!

How awesome! I am counting down the day until Tower of Terror. In a lot of ways that will be my redemption race.

Good luck tomorrow. Wishing all you Dopey’s strong legs and fast feet.

Great job on the article! Good luck today 🙂 I’ve never run in costume but I absolutely would at Disney and I’ve always wanted to make the trip down there. Hopefully in the next year or two!

I haven’t ever run in costume, but you make it look like fun! My longest race so far has been a half marathon, so the idea of Dopey sounds a little overwhelming for me. One day maybe.

The beaches of Alabama are the kind of place where the days feel slow, the kids are happy, and you don’t feel like you need a vacation after your vacation.

Alabama beaches in the spring just make sense.

2016 was a VERY big year for us. Moving states. Running multiple businesses. Being accused of getting a divorce. 🤣🫣 People are wild, yall.

Looking back they were some hard, wild times and I now know more hard times were ahead for us, but I wouldn’t change any of it. I know it’s part of our story, God had a plan, and there is a reason for it all. Just gotta keep keeping on! ❤️
