Disclosure: We were provided with a cruise paid for by Virgin Voyages, however, all opinions are my own.
Cruising just got a whole lot cooler, and we’re not just talking about the temperature on deck! Virgin Voyages has launched their latest cruise ship, the Valiant Lady, and it’s making waves in the industry. If you’re anything like us, the mere mention of Virgin Voyages has you excited. We all know Sir Richard Branson knows how to throw a party, so you can bet that cruising with his brand is going to be an experience like no other. And the Valiant Lady is no exception.
So, what can you expect from a Virgin Voyages cruise on the Valiant Lady? Let’s dive in.
Valiant Lady Luxury
First things first, the Valiant Lady is all about luxury. From the sleek design of the ship to the top-of-the-line amenities (loved the soap/shampoo in the shower!) this is not your average cruise experience. The ship has everything you need for a relaxing and indulgent getaway, from a spa and fitness center to multiple pools and hot tubs. The spa had two cold plunges, a room temp pool, and hot tubs as well as sauna, steam room, and mud room. There are 2 pools on the pool deck, one even has super plush loungers around it.
Sustainability
What really sets Virgin Voyages apart is their commitment to sustainability. The Valiant Lady is the first cruise ship to be powered by carbon-neutral liquid biogas, making it one of the most environmentally friendly ships on the seas. And it’s not just the fuel that’s eco-friendly – the ship also uses sustainable materials and has eliminated single-use plastics. There is a behind the scenes tour (extra cost) where they go into more detail about all of the sustainability features, but a fellow sailor went on it and told me some of the fun facts, and it’s pretty cool….but I won’t spoil it! for those that want to do it!
Entertainment
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Virgin Voyages cruise without some serious entertainment. The Valiant Lady has plenty of options to keep you entertained, from live music performances to themed parties and even a tattoo parlor on board. Yes, you read that right – you can get inked on your cruise! Our favorite was Dual Reality, do NOT miss this show. The athleticism of these folks was unreal. Be sure to book your tickets as soon as you board because it sells out.
Valiant Lady Food
But what about the food? As foodies ourselves, we know that a great dining experience is a must on any vacation. Luckily, Virgin Voyages has got you covered. The Valiant Lady offers a variety of dining options, from fine dining to casual bites in places like the Galley. And the best part? All of the dining is included in the cost of your cruise, so you don’t have to worry about racking up a huge bill at the end of your trip. The Wake was our favorite, it is the more formal restaurant/steakhouse on the back of the ship. They did have some upcharge options like a huge seafood tower but the regular menu is all included. Also, of course, alcohol is not included but because tip IS included, the drink prices seemed fair to me.
Adults Only
One thing that sets Virgin Voyages apart from other cruise lines is their focus on adult-only cruising. That’s right – no kids allowed! This makes for a more relaxing and sophisticated atmosphere on board. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of activities and entertainment options for all ages so you can act like a kid! They even have board games you can play as well as an arcade, and a dodgeball tournament.
So, what’s the verdict? We’re sold. A Virgin Voyages cruise on the Valiant Lady sounds like the perfect combination of luxury, entertainment, and sustainability. And with adult-only cruising, it’s the perfect option for a romantic getaway or a trip with friends.
If you’re looking to book a cruise on the Valiant Lady (and let’s be real, who isn’t?), head over to Virgin Voyages’ website to check out their itineraries and book your trip. Trust us, it’s going to be an experience you’ll never forget.
So, grab your sunscreen and your sense of adventure – it’s time to set sail!
