Granola, Baby Clothes, and Puppy Antics

I finally feel somewhat in the land of normalcy finally! We got internet Friday evening, so I have been playing catch up with work and still continuing to unpack boxes. We are by no means done, but the house is starting to look more like a home, even though I still have to flip every single light switch to remember which one is which! Today’s post is kind of a hodge podge of updates since I feel like I have been gone for so long and have a lot to share.

Cascadian Farm sent me an amazingly generous box full of their new granola, and Bobby and I have already eaten through several bags. This stuff is good, yall! One of my favorite breakfasts is granola and greek yogurt with fruit like strawberries and blueberries, but sometimes it’s just not filling enough. Enter this new granola that has 10 grams of PROTEIN in it, and it keeps me full a lot longer, plus, well…the flavors taste really, really good. If you are looking for a new breakfast or snack to rotate in (I put some in a ziploc in my purse for on the go!) I highly recommend.

Flavors are dark chocolate coconut and apple crisp

In addition to doing some catch up with work this weekend, I also did a little shopping. We still have several items we need for the baby (yikes) so I went to Target to scout out some things since I have a couple gift cards, and I absolutely could not pass up this adorable onesie set. Can you blame me? Baby M is going to be all ready for football!

Now I just need LSU outfits and headbands for all!

Speaking of adorable, a couple of people have asked how the girls are adjusting to the new house. It’s funny how quickly dogs find their new “spots” in a house and settle in. We have been all over the place this summer so I am not sure if they just think this is another pit stop or what, but they seem happy.

Bella especially likes that the windows are long enough that she can see out of them and what is going on in the front and back yard. Unfortunately for me this has led to a lot of barking and trying to teach her she does not have to bark at every car that drives down the street. See, at our house house there was a huge park in our front yard THEN the street was beyond that, so poor baby is not used to seeing cars this close to her going by all day. Hopefully she learns. Sassy doesn’t like all the moving about and unpacking, but she is getting more used to things as well. I hope to have some photos of the house for you in the next couple weeks!

Do you eat granola? Favorite kind? Are you a sucker for baby clothes?

What I’m Loving: April 2014

Thanks for all the feedback on wanting to hear my Katrina story, I will try to have it up Thursday.

Today I wanted to share some things that I am loving lately!

1.) Cascadian Farms new chewy bars with protein: I have always loved their chewy bars, they are a great snack to fit in my purse. However,  always did wish they kept me feeling full a little longer and had some protein in them. Well, my wish was granted! Lookie what they sent me in the mail! These babies have 9 grams of protein and come in yummy flavors. One of my favorite snacks is now seriously pumped up to keep me going in between meals. Instant love.

2.) Fit Pregnancy: Awhile back Jen sent me a link for a free digital subscription to Fit Pregnancy, and I have enjoyed reading it the past couple of months. I have learned several new things, and it keeps me motivated!

3.) Old Navy Maternity clothes: There is a special sale going on right now through April 9th where if you use your Old Navy credit card (or Gap or Banana) you get 30% off your entire purchase plus a free tote bag! We saved over $50 on the clothes my mom bought for me between that discount and some sale items. I was pretty stoked! (Discount works online, too!) So besides the awesome price, their clothes are super comfortable and they have some great spring colors.

4.) Caramel Coconut coffee creamer: It is girl scout cookie time, but also girl scout cookie creamer time! This caramel coconut has a great flavor and I have loved adding it to my half-caff cup of coffee in the mornings. Yum!

5.) Spring flowers: Spring has definitely sprung aorund here, and everyone is busy planting beautiful flowers in front of their house. We haven’t done that, but all of our flowering bushes have come to life, and I can’t wait for the Gardenias to bloom later on.

Friday Favorites: Ancient Grains

I know I haven’t been very consistent with my Friday Favorites posts, but we are back today! Have you heard the news? My beloved Cascadian Farm has come out with a new Granola called Ancient Grains, and it is de-licious!

Here is what they have to say about this new product: “We didn’t discover them, we uncovered them and mixed them with whole grain oats, crisp rice, a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon to create our delicious NEW variety of granola. Made with a touch of quinoa, spelt and KAMUT khorasan® wheat, ourAncient Grains Granola is an excellent source of fiber while also packing in 35 grams of Whole Grains per serving and 5 grams of protein.”

I must say, this stuff is tasty. Eaten by itself, in some milk, or in a fruit and yogurt parfait, the light sweetness packed with good for you fiber and whole grains is really, really good. If you like their other stuff, you will LOVE this! My husband had nearly finished the first box before I realized it and was able to even get a taste. Seriously that good.

Cascadian Farm is spreading the granola love to a RWS reader as well! You can win two boxes of the new Ancient Grains granola, and a Cascadian farm tote bag. Here’s how to enter:

1.) Leave a comment telling me your favorite breakfast food

2.) Tweet the following: I “want to win Ancient Grains from @CascadianFarm and @runningwithsass” and leave a separate comment telling me you did so (with a link to the tweet or your twitter handle, please.)

You can enter until next Thursday, August 9th at 8:00 pm CST and I will announce a winner in my Friday blog post. Good luck! PS- be sure to check Cascadian Farm out on Facebook and Twitter!
