2016 Christmas Gift List

It’s time again for some Christmas gift ideas! This is in no way an exhaustive list, but just meant to give you some ideas for the fitness lover or hard to shop for family member on your list. All of these products are things personally used by me, and some of them may contain affiliate links, while others are things I just love and wanted to tell you about! Let me know if you have any questions and I can try to help you out or find answers. Happy shopping!

1.) Running skirts from RunningSkirts.com. I know I talk about these a lot, but they are seriously my favorite running skirt brand. Pockets on each side to hold keys, tissue etc, sweat wicking, and they have styles with shorts, capris, and briefs. Super comfy and adorable too! They also have shorts (run buns) and capris now, too. The tops are really lightweight, and they are always coming out with new stuff. Right now they are having sales on different days for different items, so go check out their site!

2.) Resistance bands. Since we just moved and haven’t joined a gym yet, I knew I would need to get a couple of things to get me by for now, and resistance bands were at the top of my list. They are great for stretching, PT, or minor running injuries. For instance, I have hip and IT band issues and strengthening my hips and legs with resistance bands has helped me So much! I use them while I watch TV at night. Super easy.

3.) Photo gifts from Shutterfly. These are always a big hit, especially with family members wanting pictures of Emma Kate. We personally order our Christmas cards and photo calendars from here and the quality is great! Also, this time of year they are always having sales.

4.) goodr sunglasses: This is a start up company I came across, and I am in love with their super affordable and adorable running sunglasses. They don’t slip (really!) and I have worn mine every day. They did a kickstarter campaign in the fall, and I believe in these sunglasses so much that I joined in and pledged. More colors are coming soon! You can get them in orange with free shipping for prime members now, or check out their website for pre orders of other colors.

5.) My ebook or in paperback: I of course had to throw this one in there. Smile If you or a friend are looking for some motivation, encouragement, and a fresh start for the new year, then my ebook may be for you. If you aren’t sure, you can read a sample chapter here for free.

6.) ZEROWATER water filters: I have used the ZEROWATER pitcher before and was super impressed, but this was my first time using the portable tumbler. It’s pretty awesome because I can now fill up my water bottle anywhere and know that I will have great filtered water! I took it to the gym this morning and it worked like a charm. It combines the top-performing filtration technology with a sleek, convenient design. The ZeroWater filtration system combines FIVE sophisticated technologies that work together to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water, so you taste nothing but the water.

QOTD: What is on your Christmas gift list?

Sick and Tired

Hey guys, guess what? It’s November! I hope you had a fun and safe Halloween. Guess what again? I have the winners of the free Shutterfly cards for you. I loved reading everyone’s favorite Christmas traditions, it got me so excited for the holidays coming up so soon! Also…guess what a third time? I have the flu and am not going to Savannah.  I am so crushed, I was going to get to see Jen, work the awesome RnR expo with Running Skirts, and run half marathon number 10, but it won’t be happening. I can barely walk down the stairs and am confined to my bed. I definitely think my body is trying to tell me to SLOW DOWN. I have all the classic symptoms…fever, achy, weak, sore throat, cough, headache, etc. etc.

Three expos in then month of October was a lot, and a lot of traveling, so I think some good rest will do me well. I would much rather listen to my body and stay home then push it and get pneumonia or some other sickness because my immune system is so down. Live to fight another day, right? I am currently hopped up on lots of medication though so I feel a bit better, but as soon as my meds wear off, I can really feel it.

Bobby tried to be sweet and make me a Mickey pumpkin…but it kind of looks like a bear. #Fail

Onto my winners. I had 55 entrants sharing awesome traditions, some of them I may adapt for myself. If you are looking for a new tradition check out the comments.  Please e mail me at [email protected] to claim your Shutterfly code for 25 free cards.

Megan from Running Toward the Prize

“I LOVE sending and getting holiday cards! My husband does not understand it at all – but I still make him take photos :)

As for my favorite holiday tradition – it would probably be Christmas services at church. From Christmas Eve services to Christmas plays to Christmas choir performances, we would always go as a family (and participated in many too!)”

Suzy from Running Around the World

Awww your shutterfly card is so cute! (of course, you can’t go wrong with puppies in sweaters!)

One of my (new) holiday traditions is a Cookie Decorating Party… not a cookie swap, but we bake a metric ton of sugar cookies and then drink wine and ice them! This year will be the 2nd annual.

My family holiday tradition is that we always play cards (crazy 8′s) after Christmas Eve dinner.

Brittney from Life in a Holding Pattern

For Christmas dinner we always make my grandma’s recipe for mac & cheese, which involves spaghettie noodles and extra sharpe white cheddar cheese. It’s delicious

Luckily, I had some guest posts lined up for while I was supposed to be in Savannah, so I will still be using those so I can just rest and recover and not have to think about posting for a couple days until I am better. Thanks for hanging with me guys.

QOTD: Have you ever had to drop out of a race due to illness or injury? Or miss a work trip? How did it make you feel? I feel terrible having to cancel but don’t really have much of a choice. Sad smile

A Shutterfly Christmas

Happy Wednesday! This week is flying by, cannot believe it’s almost Halloween. It seems like It was just stifling hot outside, and now the leaves are changing and the grass is dying. I guess that’s why happens when you are out of town for work almost the whole month of October! I am not complaining though, because that means my favorite time of year is coming…CHRISTMAS! I can’t believe its less than two months away. I am so excited to start decorating and listening to Christmas music.

One thing I may have never shared on RWS is that I am obsessed with snail mail. Call me old fashioned, but I love getting the mail. My husband knows better than to get the mail in this house! So, with that being said, I LOVE sending and receiving Christmas cards! Not just any Christmas cards, but photo Christmas cards. I have always thought it was nice to see how a family changes year to year.

Once again, Shutterfly has made it simple and affordable to send out cards to your friends and family, and guess what? This year, THREE RWS readers will get 25 FREE cards! Here is the Shutterfly card I sent last year if you need some inspiration:

There are so many options to choose from! The photo cards are of course my favorites! There are so many designs to choose from I am going to have a tough time narrowing it down! They also have greeting cards (for all holidays) and the ever important Thank You card after you get all of those great Christmas gifts!

Shutterfly makes it so easy with step-by-step instructions to make your family look it’s best as it sits in someone else’s home, and they wish they were you…I KID! Just making sure you are paying attention!

I have used Shutterfly for my Christmas cards for the past few years and I have always been so happy with the results. I have (in the late past) done my cards with other stores/places and been less than thrilled. These memories are not the kind of thing you want to mess up! So, go ahead, hop on over to Shutterfly and browse their awesome collection! It’s not to early to be thinking about the holidays!

Oh, you want to win some free cards? Ok! Three readers will win 25 free cards! All you have to do, is in the comments section, tell me one of your favorite Christmas traditions. One of mine is every year on Christmas eve, we sit around the fire and my dad read’s Twas the Night Before Christmas, and the Christmas story out of the Bible. we have done this for as long as I remember and I hope we never stop!

QOTD: For a chance to win 25 free cards, tell me one of your favorite Christmas traditions!

I will randomly choose 3 winners Monday, October 31 and will announce on Tuesday, November 1. You have until Monday night at midnight CST to enter.

*I was compensated for my review of Shutterfly, but the opinions expressed are my own.
