Why You Should Workout This Winter

November 21, 2017 | fitness, food, Giveaway, health

Even though I live in Florida, temperatures are still finally starting to drop (hallelujah!) While this makes me happy, especially around the holidays, it also makes me want to curl up on the couch with a Halmark movie–er…book…and just…not move. While this sounds quite relaxing, it’s not exactly beneficial to my waistline. So, on behalf of EcoDrink, a healthy and easy way to get your vitamins every day, I’d like to share with you 5 reasons to take your workouts outside this winter:

1.) General Happiness: Exercise increases your endorphin levels which in turn can put you in a better mood, but did you also know the effect is heightened when exercising in the cold? This is due to the fact that you have to work harder in cold weather, so your endorphin production is boosted more than normal, and in turn, your happiness level. Confession: Whenever someone talks about endorphins and happiness I think of the movie Legally Blonde!

2.) Vitamin D boost: Did you know that about 80 to 90 percent of your vitamin D comes from the sun?  It’s pretty easy and fairly common for people to become vitamin D deficient in the colder months since they aren’t spending time outdoors. (Well, unless you live in Florida like me!) Vitamin D helps to keep your bones and immune system strong, and can also give you an additional dose of happiness.

3.) Burn more calories: Cold weather causes your body to regulate its temperature better meaning you can exercise for longer and burn more calories. Does shivering count as a workout? This sounds like a win to me!

4.) Less sick time: Some studies have found that regular outside exercise in the cold helps reduce the risk of flu by 20 to 30 percent. Through low-temperature training, the body adapts to the cold weather and, with time, strengthens the immune system against it. A a mother of a germy preschooler, this gets two thumbs up from me.

5.) It pairs well with EcoDrink: The EcoDrink Multivitamin is a healthy and convenient way to get your recommended daily dose of essential vitamins and minerals. Full of electrolytes and antioxidants to keep you hydrated and healthy, EcoDrink is a refreshing and delicious thirst quencher that provides energy and aids in muscle recovery after your workout to make the most of your time. It’s also a great way to get in extra water. Just pour the powder in 16 oz, shake, and enjoy! Also, EcoDrink Naturals is made with stevia, not sucralose and can be found on Amazon!.

I started noticing little signs during my normal day. Just occasional bloating, gas, and that slightly “off” feeling. So instead of ignoring it, I listened. I slowed down, moved more consistently, and added Align Probiotic to my routine.

It’s one capsule a day and the #1 doctor-recommended probiotic brand for over 15 years‡. I started taking Align to help relieve my occasional gas, bloating, and stomach discomfort* and now I feel more comfortable moving through my day. @alignprobiotic

And now… it finally will be. 🤍

We’re not leaving Tennessee, just making a local move that puts us closer to my daughter’s school, closer to our day-to-day life, and honestly closer to the version of life I’ve been hoping for since we moved here. (Aka not so much time in the car!)

Still Knoxville. New chapter. Lots of boxes. Please pray. 🏡📦

Between dogs, snacks that never make it to a plate, and whatever is happening in my entryway on a daily basis… I needed something that could actually keep up in one go. This one’s been doing the heavy lifting so I’m not doing 12 different cleanups for the same mess.

Life doesn’t happen in neat, single-surface moments. From pet hair to crumbs to tracked-in grass, real homes have layered messes. The BISSELL PowerClean DualBrush™ is designed to handle it all in one pass without switching tools or going over the same spot twice.

Promotion: List Price $359.99, on sale for $259.99 ($100 off) from 4/5–5/30. Limited time only, don’t miss it. Link in bio to shop while the deal lasts 👀

I clipped the 4x fuel points digital coupon on the Kroger app, grabbed a Mastercard gift card at Kroger, and turned a quick errand into a little win-win situation by adding in a handmade colored card and personalized note. She gets to pick exactly what she wants. 💛

I get 4X fuel points while I’m already out running around (because of course I am). Simple, thoughtful, and honestly kind of perfect.
Head to your local Kroger, clip the coupon, and grab a Visa or Mastercard gift card, but the offer is only good through May 12! Link is in my bio!

#ZbarPartner I know these days won’t last forever, #ZbarPartner I know these days won’t last forever, so I’m soaking up every driveway game, every laugh, every little break in the grass. 🤍

Lately our go-to has been Zbar Protein Snack Bars, especially the new Strawberries ‘N Creme flavor that is made with organic whole grain oats, real fruit, and protein to help support growing kids. It’s a snack she loves and I feel good about too.

It’s a great little reset so she can get right back to doing what she does best, playing her heart out 💕

Getting older, I started noticing my hair wasn’t q Getting older, I started noticing my hair wasn’t quite the same. A little more thinning, my scalp hasn’t felt the same, and I’ve spent more time just throwing it up into a ponytail, and honestly not giving it much thought beyond that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So I started becoming more intentional about actually taking care of my hair and scalp, and it’s such a small shift, but it really does make me feel better.

I’ve been using Mochi Health’s personalized hair support options, which makes it easier to stay consistent instead of guessing what to use. It fits into my routine and finally feels like I’m doing something proactive for myself instead of just hiding it in a bun. Check out the link in my bio for $40 off your first month.
