My second time attending @southerntravelersexplore is in the books! 🙌🏻

This year, I had the honor of being one of the conference speakers and had so much fun! I am so grateful that @whereverimayroamblog trusted me to share my past experiences and knowledge on being a content creator with the attendees. 💜

We were in @visitoconeesc, a place I have never been, and I learned a lot about the area! There are great restaurants, waterfalls, lakes, and people. It’s definitely somewhere I would love to spend more time.

I also learned a lot from my fellow travel writers. You are never so far ahead in your career that you should stop learning and growing! Everyone has a unique perspective and something to add to the conversation.

This is such a special conference with lots of special people. No clicks, no attitudes, just a lot of fun and learning. I even won an STE superstar award which I was not expecting! ✨

So what do I want you to learn after reading this post?

1.) Attend STE next year if you are a travel writer
2.) Never stop learning. You have not “arrived.”
3.) Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and do something new or scary. It may be the best decision you ever make!

Did you know you can celebrate Mardi Gras at the beach? (Ad) 💜💚💛

We just got back from an awesome stay at @thebeachclubresortandspa by @spectrumresorts in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Emma Kate got to experience her first Mardi Gras!

There are several parades that take place the weekend before Mardi Gras leading up until the actual day, so there was no shortage of things to do. Plus several of the restaurants had special Mardi Gras food and drink menus which added to the fun.

The Beach Club was the perfect place to stay because at the end of a long day of bead catching, we had a beautiful spacious condo to go back to. We also made a grocery store run so we could do some light cooking there instead of eating out for every meal to make it more economical. The kitchen was stocked with all the pots and pans we needed!

I grew up in New Orleans and so I’m used to the fanfare and parades, but it was so much fun seeing it through the eyes of my kid! 🎭

Last month we enjoyed an amazing meal at @carrabbas while we were in Orlando with my family! (Ad) 🍷

The one we visited was just a couple of minutes off Disney property and had a huge menu, happy hour, and a special winter seasonal menu! 🍝

The service was amazing and everything tasted so fresh! We finished the evening off with some excellent desserts. Emma Kate gave her meal two thumbs up as well and she can be picky.

Getting to run my besties first race EVER with her made it even more magical and the miles truly flew by! She said she has officially drank the kool aid and is ready for another #rundisney race! What should we do next?
