Last Minute Princess Thoughts

February 18, 2015 | Disney, family, runDisney, running, Travel

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I will be back in Disney World tomorrow after a year away from my happy place! I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to not only be there and run, but to spend a week with my husband, just the two of us. We vacationed a lot before Emma Kate was born, but I totally took our time together for granted. That has definitely changed and I am stoked to fly out first thing tomorrow!

unnamed (20)

My mom is on her way up to the house today, she will be watching the baby here for the first half of the trip and Bobby’s mom the second half. We are so thankful they are coming, that way EK will be in her own environment and on her regular routine, go to school, etc.

Ok, so, a few last minute things I am doing today that I wanted to remind the other princesses about. Don’t forget to check in for your flight if you need to, print out your waiver, print out the form to get a free bookmark at the expo, and if you are staying on Disney property, don’t forget to pack your magic bands in your CARRY ON BAG.

I will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside, so if you see me at the resort or parks say hi!

Also, don’t forget I am hosting two meet up’s, very informal, come and go. The first one is SATURDAY EVENING at 6:15 ish in front of Ghirardelli at Downtown Disney. I will try to post a pic prior as to what we are wearing so we can be easily spotted, so be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter so you don’t miss anything!

unnamed (22)

Did someone say ice cream?

The second meet up is SUNDAY MORNING in front of the Race retreat tent around 4:15 or 4:30. I have another meet up at 4 and will try to scoot away from that one to get to this one between those two time, so if I’m not there yet, I’m coming! Again, I will try to post my updated whereabouts on Twitter so check there if you don’t see me right away I may have posted that I’m on my way etc.

Enchanted-10K-48_thumb

Also, I will be at the race expo Thursday afternoon (maybe around 2ish?) It will depend on how long magical express and check in take. IF YOU SEE ME AT THE EXPO, say the password “Looking Glass” and I may have a special prize for you! Please don’t be shy, I love love love meeting new friends, I promise I won’t bite.

I can’t believe it’s been a year, and as I think back to last year’s race and trip I am glad I get a “redo”. Last year at Princess, I was 9 weeks pregnant and at the height of my morning sickness. I felt awful and nauseated and have never experienced that level of exhaustion. I had not told anyone yet but my parents, so I had to pretend to smile and be happy even though I felt so bad! It was my first time running a runDisney race alone, too so that was hard with how bad I was feeling. I remember being so upset because I felt like I ruined the trip for everyone (my parents were with us) and I knew it would be a long time until I got to come back to Disney again. Oh how a year can make a huge difference! Definitely not pregnant this year, although some days I still feel I look it trying to get rid of these last few pounds! Anyway, I am so thankful I get to go back and race again, and I won’t take it for granted!

PS: Don’t forget to check out my runDisney Princess Half marathon tips!

QOTD: Are you running princess? What day will you be at the expo?

Flying out of Monroe, LA at 6am tomorrow. Plan to be at the expo around 1:30. If I don’t see you there, I’ll try to make the Sunday morning meet up. In case those don’t work out, have a great race and a wonderful vacation! Can’t wait to read about it later!

So happy for you that you’re able to head back to Disney, and have a week vacation with Bobby. That’s so sweet and kind of your mom and your mother in law to take care of EK at your house so that her schedule isn’t disrupted. I’m sure you and Bobby will have a great time, but will also be happy in another week to be back and able to hug and kiss your little girl.

I am so excited for the Princess Race! It has been 20 years since I have last been to Disney so I am counting down the hours! I leave tomorrow and get in around 5 pm. I am not sure when I am going to the expo. Possibly Friday. I would love to go to the meet ups but the whole week is a big family vacation so I will be running around Disney and Universal with my family (My brother’s first time at Harry Potter and we are big fans!) I hope I run into you during the race! Enjoy the trip with your husband!

Just popped in to warn all of you who read this post that Heather did in fact, bit me when I met her during Marathon Weekend 2014 so she’s lying about the “no biting” thing. LOL Just kidding. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy your return to Disney and have an awesome race.

I should be at the Expo tomorrow right around the same time. I’ve been following on your blog, IG and twitter since I started running about a year ago. I’d love to say hi but know me, I’ll probably turn bright red at just the thought. So, if you see a tall, dark blonde girl with a bright red face, that’ll be me… wanting to say hi but sacred you’ll bite… (lol, not really!) I’ll try to suck it up and say hi though, seriously. I’d love to meet you too. Sadly, I’m only running the 5K and we’ll be heading home Saturday afternoon so I won’t be able to make it to your meet-ups.

Have a great time at Princess! I am having runDisney withdrawals. I need to pick a 2016 race. I was going to do Tower of Terror this year and that got squashed so I am putting all my efforts in St Judes in Memphis. I am thinking TOT in 2016 or maybe StarWars? not sure..

If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten C If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten Coast, save this one. 🌊 #RentingTheCoastPartner

We stayed at Singing Waves in Cape San Blas, and it was everything we wanted in a beach getaway: beautiful views, plenty of space, and the kind of place that makes you slow down and actually enjoy vacation.

What really stood out, though, was Renting the Coast. They’re a locally owned, family run company that manages vacation homes throughout Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, and the surrounding Forgotten Coast communities.

Instead of managing hundreds of properties, they intentionally keep their inventory smaller so they can provide a more personal experience for both guests and homeowners. They’re known for being accessible, responsive, and focused on making sure every stay goes smoothly.

If Cape San Blas has been on your travel list, Singing Waves is absolutely worth checking out, and so is Renting the Coast’s collection of homes along Florida’s most underrated stretch of coastline. ☀️

I didn’t realize how much mental space hair removal was taking up until it just… wasn’t anymore. Between games, trips, and everything in between, having something I can do at home in minutes has been a total game changer. The app-guided treatments keep me consistent without having to think about it, and I’m already noticing smoother skin that actually lasts. And yes — the full-body, 10-minute-at-home situation still feels a little unreal.

If you’ve been on the fence, Prime Day (June 14–27) is definitely the moment to check it out with $120 off. #BraunSmartIPL

We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we just needed a break from the noise.
What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️
