Run True Love

Hey guys! Happy late Valentine’s Day! Honestly, Bobby and I never go out on Valentine’s Day, and he knows I would kill him if he bought overpriced flowers, so we just normally exchange cards and call it a day.

However, when ASICS reached out to me about giving a surprise to our support system or “run true love”, I was super excited and decided to make it a scavenger hunt live on Periscope.

It was fun and I am glad I did it, and Bobby is happy he has some new shoes. He has never run in the Nimbus before, so I will have to get him to write a review post after he has run in them awhile. If you want to see how fellow ASICS ambassadors surprised their friends or family, follow #runtruelove.

We ate pizza for dinner, and then it was time for the main event. THE WALKING DEAD! Yall, if you aren’t watching this show then you are missing out on the amazingness that is Daryl Dixon and the rest of the gang.

Love it. The episode did not disappoint (wow it was intense!) and I can’t wait to see the direction they take the rest of the season. Also, Carrie Underwood was the special guest on the Talking Dead, and I am a HUGE fan of hers, so that was a fun bonus.

So, that’s our incredibly exciting Valentine’s Day, which was fine by me. I hope your day was a good one, too! (and congrats to all the LA marathon finishers. You can check out my recap from last year here.)

QOTD: Do you watch The Walking Dead? What did you do for Valentine’s Day?

10 Confessions

Confession: I have eaten way more frozen yogurt in the past two weeks than any one person should eat.

But it’s blackberry greek with fruit, nuts, and granola!

Confession: I tend to over commit and then can’t do my best work because I am rushed.

Confession: I watched all the seasons of Nashville in a span of a month.

Confession: I have gotten jealous of people getting to run so many fun destination races that I have been missing out on.

Did you see the new runDisney announcement yesterday here on THLG?

Confession: I have an alert on my phone for when The Walking Dead comes back on for the fall. (Thoughts on the companion series?)

QOTD: Ok, spill it. Give me a confession!

What I’m Loving These Days

I haven’t done a post like this in awhile, and figured it was about time. My tastes, habits, and favorites change a good bit as I’m sure do yours. Maybe you will find a new favorite from my list!

1.) Under Armour shoes – I have a couple of pairs that I really like and cross train in, but recently received some more geared towards running, and so far I am loving them! I have both the speedform and the Monza. Fun bright colors, stable running shoes. I will talk more about these after I get more miles in them both.

Don’t forget you can use my affiliate link to order straight from Under Armour!

2.) Kind bars – My favorite is the peanut butter dark chocolate of course. A great snack full of protein and flavor. I go through several bars a week, and buy them at Target.

3.) Legend – I am a little over halfway through this book, and am enjoying it. Hopefully I can finish reading it on my trip. Check out the website for more info. If you like Divergent, Maze Runner, etc. you will like this one.

4.) Football – Every fall I forgot how much I really love the game, and I am enjoying watching multiple days a week. There is just something about it, even just having a game on in the background. Love. So wishing I could get to a Saints or LSU game this year!

5.) Walking Dead – Where are my fellow walker fans? It’s ALMOST time for season four, get excited! Season three just came out on Netflix, so we have been re-watching and getting ready for the premiere. Don’t miss all the zombie fun, this is a great series.

New Favorites

I may be a little behind with my love for a few things but still wanted to talk about the “new to me” things I have been enjoying lately!

The Walking Dead

I have heard a lot of people profess their love for this show, and honestly, I was a bit scared to watch it. I am not a horror movie kind of girl. The thought of flesh eating zombies jumping out from behind buildings really freaks me out. However, I gave it a shot and I am happy to report in my opinion, the “walkers” are not even that scary. It’s mainly about surviving in a post apocalyptic world, with a lot more plot than just zombies chasing characters around. The zombies are actually quite dumb which is more funny to me than scary. Bobby and I are midway through season two and are really enjoying it. Can’t wait for season 4 to start in the fall!

The Kill Order

I have said before how I really loved the Maze Runner book series. I was at Target browsing the book section a couple weeks ago and stumbled about a prequel that I didn’t know existed called the Kill Order. I hurried home and downloaded into onto my tablet, then finished the book in three days. I loved it! Great way to round out the series and explain some of the things that happened in the 3 books that come after it.

The Elite

Another book I talked about last year was The Selection. I read it super fast and hated I had to wait a whole year for the next book to come out. Well, it finally came out and now I am awaiting the third! This is a good beach read type of a book, very easy and fun. It’s technically a young adult book, but I love it. (Hey, I’m young right?)

QOTD: Read any of these books? Love the Walking Dead?
