$What do I highly recommend?🌟 Taking a mommy “timeout” and getting away from your house, alone, for a few days to relax and reset. This has done me SO MUCH GOOD. Not only was it amazing to get to spend some one on one girl time with the most amazing human, my cousin, but we got our Christmas shopping done, ate lots of snacks, laughed, cried, slept, and stayed up until 1:00 am. 🫣 I knew I needed a break, but didn’t know how badly until I was here. I so sad to leave but also excited to be home with my family, recharged and ready to enjoy the holidays.🎄 Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. I KNOW this time of year is just so. Draining. Yall. It’s so hard. Take some time, whether is a few days or a few hours to do what feeds your soul. It will help you more than you realize! Does anyone else have a hard time relaxing in their own house?

The past month I have worked harder than I have in my whole life. I’m ssooo thankful for my job, but I am seven kinds of burnt out.

I’ve been working 13+ hour days 5 days a week, and working several hours on the weekends, and my health is suffering (physically and mentally!) Throw on top the personal things we have been going through and it’s been a lot.

Bobby doesn’t “get it” but I am incapable of relaxing in my own house. I look around and there are too many things that need to be done. So if I truly want to relax, I have to leave my house so I’m not distracted by all the things.

So I’m leaving for a few days. Yes it’s still my busy season but I have been working hard to work ahead so that I can do this. Plus I’m bringing my laptop so I can work while I’m gone.

So where am I going? While it won’t be warm enough to do as this photo suggests, I am going to the BEACH to visit my cousin and relax!

Do I feel guilty? Yes. Do I feel like if I don’t do something to recharge for a few days I will have a breakdown? Also yes. There is no shame in admitting you need a break, even from the ones you love. We all need some alone time now and again!

So I am giving myself the gift of solitude and rest this year. Just for a few days. I leave today after EK’s basketball game, so if you want to see what I’m up to be sure to follow along, I will still be posting and working just with fewer distractions! 😝🫠
