Disney 2019 Vacation Recap: Part 2

In case you missed part 1, you can go back and read it here.

We left off at the end of our arrival day. When we planned this trip, we decided to do 3 days of parks. Since we had 4 full days, that meant one day would be a day at the resort. Since the parks are typically less crowded during the week (and it was a runDisney weekend to boot), we decided Sunday would be our “chill day.”

We got up and the family ate pancakes (I was fasting still!) And Bobby went to get us chairs at the pool. Mom cleaned up and Dad, Emma Kate and I ran over to Sugar Loaf to say hello to a cast member friend of mine. We had a nice chat and headed back to the pool with mimosas.

We had front row chairs, which was great for taking turns in the pool with Emma Kate and keeping an eye on her when she went down the slide. She was having a blast.

Let me tell you, this girl can play HARD.

We got to the pool a little after 9:00, and girlfriend didn’t stop until we MADE her get out at 1:30. When it was lunch time, my mom and I walked to the Polynesian (the weather was amazing yall) and we picked up lunch and brought it back and ate at our chairs.

The walk was really nice and the food was delicious as always.

My mom and dad took Emma Kate up to the room and Bobby and I stayed about 30 minutes longer until I had had enough (it was warming up and my spot wasn’t covered by the umbrella anymore and I could feel myself frying.) So everyone took naps (the only time the whole trip EK napped, unfortunately.)

After nap, we hung out on the balcony enjoying the weather and some snacks.

Bobby and I had reservations for Narcoossess that evening, so Emma Kate and I put on some mommy and me dresses for a little photo shoot before dinner.

It was really nice having dinner at our resort and just walking over! As we walked a cast member saw us and gave us a ride on his golf cart.

I always try to be honest with yall, and I must admit we were super disappointed with our dinner. We used to LOVE Narcoossess, but prices have gone way up, and they must have gotten a new chef because the fillet I know and love tasted WAY different and had different sauces etc. It was COVERED in pepper and it was overpowering and just tasted like I was eating forkfuls of it. It was also overcooked which was a bummer. Normally they butterfly it for me and didn’t this time, maybe that’s why it was overcooked?

My drink was delicious (chocolate martini), and dessert was good. But for the price, the portions are small (Bobby was hungry after) and we won’t be back for a while. We love Citrico’s too, so we will probbaly go there next time or California Grill.

After dinner we walked around a bit and went and sat by the marina.

We went back to the room and changed, and all headed downstairs for the movie under the stars. This was our first time participating, and thought it was a nice touch that they gave out popcorn.

We left halfway through the movie (we have Monsters Inc. and Emma Kate was getting bored) to go watch the fireworks from the marina. It was pretty crowded and we didn’t stay the whole time (my child has the attention span of a flea.)

As we walked back to the villas, we realized the place where you roast marshmallows had an amazing view of the fireworks! This is our plan next time!

It was a great day just relaxing and not having to rush off to a park. I highly recommend doing a day like this if you can!

However the crazy was just about to start for us, as the next day we were headed to Magic Kingdom! Stay tuned for more.

Princess Time

Good morning! I am in a fabulous mood, I leave for my parents today, then early tomorrow morning for DISNEY! I can’t believe it’s finally here. Karen and I have been planning this for a year. I finally got my schedule from run Disney, so I thought I would share with you some of the fun things I will be doing for the next 5 days.

Thursday I fly in, check in to the Animal Kingdom lodge (a room to myself for the night!) Then will probably hit the pool or one of the parks. We don’t have to be anywhere until our welcome dinner that night.

Friday morning we have the Tweet up and run with Jeff Galloway through EPCOT. Then, we have some free time before heading to the Expo and picking up our packets and doing some shopping. I told Juli who will be working the Running Skirts booth I would swing by and help her for a few minutes. Then my mom, Karen, and her mom meet me there and we go check in at the Grand Floridian and relax, aahhhh. Then that night it’s Pasta Party time in EPCOT!

Saturday morning will have an early wake up call for the 5k, also in EPCOT. My mom is the only one not running this one so she will meet us at the finish. We will hang at the park some then I have to zip over to the kids races for a bit then I have more free time. My blogger meet up is at 3:00 at the Grand Floridian, then I have a special dinner with the runDisney folks at Via Napoli.

Sunday morning is a REALLY early wake up call…I have access to the race retreat before the half, then me, my mom, and Karen will run the Princess half marathon. After the race, the official runDisney part of the weekend is over, but we are staying till Tuesday! We will go to the parks Sunday and eat dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

Monday, we will hit up the parks again and then we have dinner at ‘Ohana, before we drive home Tuesday morning. WHEW I am exhausted just reading all of that, but I can’t WAIT either!!!

Oh, also I plan to reveal my costume for the half on Thursday or Friday so stay tuned, and be sure to say hello if you see me!

I can’t remember if I mentioned it or not, but a couple weeks ago I was sent to the YMCA when they were filming for a news segment. Our facility is brand new, so the news was profiling it, so I “worked out” on the elliptical during the segment. Here it is!

haha.  be sure to check out the other time I was on television.

QOTD: Have you ever been on TV? What for?

Princess Pampering

I warned you all on Twitter and Facebook yesterday that I had some exciting news to share. Some of my fellow bloggers have already shared so I figured it was my turn, too. As most of you know, I am running the Disney Princess half marathon next weekend. Well, I found out yesterday I was selected as one of a few lucky bloggers through FitFluential to be pampered like princesses all weekend long!

WOO HOO! I will be coming in a day earlier than planned (flying) and staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge before I switch over to the Grand Floridian to be with my mom, Karen, and her mom. I am so excited about this opportunity. I am also going to be running the 5k.

Don’t worry, I will be tweeting and updating my little heart out, so you won’t want to miss any of it! Be sure you follow me on Twitter and my Facebook fan page.

I don’t have an exact itinerary yet but will be sure to share with you when I do. All I know is I am so blessed, and I am going to have a blast. Not to mention, I get to hang with my mom, Karen and her mom until Tuesday, we are going to have so much fun, this is just the icing on the cake.

***Bloggers, this does NOT change our Saturday meet up, it is still at 3:00 pm at the Grand Floridian. Please feel free to link my post about the meet up on your blog, Twitter, etc. We are going to have some great GIVEAWAYS so you won’t want to miss this networking opportunity!***

QOTD: If you were really a princess for a day, what would you do?

Disney Day 6 September 2011

Mornin’. I am on my way to St. Louis right now…well…depending on what time you read this! I am headed to work the Running Skirts booth at Rock n Roll St. Louis. If you are running, please stop by and say hello! I will be running the half Sunday then flying back home afterwards.

We left off on the Disney posts with a dinner with friends at Artist Point. The next day, we headed to Hollywood Studios after breakfast. Poor Jen was still sick and they didn’t plan to stay long, but we figured the boys could go ride some of the rides together that pregnant Jen couldn’t ride in her current state.

We had a good laugh at the fact that Mr. Runner’s Trials was wearing a “happily ever after” button from their honeymoon on the back of his camelbak. When the boys went off together to ride rides, people were congratulating them and poor Bobby didn’t realize why until they told us about it when we met back up with them. Hehe!

It was also quite comical to see a very pregnant Jen walking around with him wearing the happily ever after (honeymoon) button.

After they left, Bobby and I hit up Star Tours, and I was chosen as the Rebel spy. eekk! If you have no idea what I am talking about, go ride the new ride. Smile

But I promise I’m NOT a spy!

We had lunch at Sci Fi, a fun favorite. It gets a lot of points just for atmosphere.

For Dinner, we met back up with our fellow vacationers for a huge, delicious, dinner at Ohana. I had a big #fail this night because the only picture I took was of dessert! Oops. Shows you what I was thinking about!

It is all you can eat so we ate a LOT. Good company, good conversation, good times.

QOTD: Do you take a lot of pictures on vacation, just a few, or leave the camera at home?

Aloha part 2

Yesterday I ran three miles, then Bobby and I went to the gym and did tri’s, legs, and chest, then did 20 minutes on the bike. I am feeling it today!

Ok so we left off after our first day in Disney. The next morning we woke up with a mission. It was Star Wars weekend, and we HAD to ride the new Star Tours ride! Our plan, was for me, Bobby and my dad to run to the new ride when DHS opened, and my mom took our passes and went to Toy Story mania to get us fastpasses. It was a good plan, we only waited for Star tours about 25 minutes, and our fastpasses were for around 12:45. But first….we woke up early (all except Bobby) got coffee, and sat outside on the swings at the beach, outside our room, and chatted as Disney woke up. I LOVE Disney early in the morning, it’s one of my favorite things ever.

We had some friends.

my mom took this of me and my dad hanging out, enjoying the view.

so peaceful! Ok, so back to the MADNESS that was the Star Tours line!

line behind us

after Star Tours, we did the Great Movie ride, the American Idol Experience, and then ate lunch at a counter service location before riding Toy Story Mania, and then heading out of the park.

heading out already? Why yes actually. We only had two park days, really, so we were hitting up EPCOT as well as DHS. But not before taking a few fun pictures.

We made it to EPCOT (so nice having your own car) and took more pictures…

and headed to Mexico for a snack

Bobby, dad and I hopped in the single rider line for test Track, and we were getting pretty tired so after walking around a bit decided to head back to the hotel.

Oh, I forgot to mention, this day was my parents 34th wedding anniversary!!! Fun times! We also were in Disney on their 32nd anniversary, and we ate at Narcoossees that night as well.

Isn’t that fun?!? and yes, my mom and I wore the same dresses on purpose so we could retake pictures in the (relatively) same spot. Love it! Do we look different?

Dinner was fabulous, we got our favorite waitress

and she gave us two free desserts since we were celebrating, yum!

DSC_0173 DSC_0174

if you know me at ALL you know I LOVE Narcoossees almond crusted cheesecake!

While we were eating, a freakishly dark storm settled over the Magic Kingdom, and we watched it rain from our table.

that’s not night sky, it’s dark clouds! ssspppooookkkyy!

After a lovely dinner we decided to walk the path back to the Polynesian from the Grand, it was so nice out, a great end to a great night!

tomorrow’s post will be more California fun!

QOTD: Would you rather be at the parks in Disney when it is raining or really really hot?

Good morning! I am headed out for a run, but wanted to blog first about our stay at Disney’s Polynesian Resort for three nights before the cruise. We drove to Disney at 3 am on May 26th, and got there around 12:30. We were taken to the concierge check in, and our room was ready! We had the BEST room and location. It was on the first floor of the Hawaii building, second room, lagoon side. (1502)

We had a great patio we could walk right out to the beach from, and we were close to the lobby/lounge/front of the building.

It was a little hot out, but not too terribly bad or humid.

we ooed and aaahhed over our view, unpacked a little, and got ready to head to the Magic Kingdom!

But not before hitting up the concierge lounge for some snacks!

We headed to the Magic Kingdom, rode Pirates, peoplemover, and Buzz Lightyear, and got a nice treat because it was getting H-O-T!

it wasn’t too crowded, but we were tired from driving, so we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

with my zoom lens from our patio

we had appetizers in the lounge then drove to Yachtsman Steakhouse!

The food was great, and we had a good time. After dinner, we made it back to the lounge to have dessert and then watched Wishes from our patio. The music was piped in, too! The beach was full of people, it was so nice to have our chairs and be in our PJ’s then just go in the room when it was over!

That was day one! Tomorrow I will REALLY confuse you and jump to some running skirts fun and pictures, so don’t go anywhere!

QOTD: What is your favorite Disney food?

Friday Favorites: Weddings!

It’s Friday, Friday……ok I will not have that song stuck in my head all day, again! Anyway, I will admit I was NOT one of the millions of people who woke up at 3 AM for the wedding. I love weddings a LOT, but I also LOVE my sleep, and missing 4 hours of it is a lot, especially when we have this nice contraption called TiVo that I could use and record the whole thing and watch later/fast forward through the boring parts. Sneaky eh?

Anyway, I haven’t watched yet but I did see replays on TV and it looks beautiful, Kate looked beautiful! I cannot IMAGINE what was going through her head knowing how much her life is about to change! How exciting! This, of course, got me thinking about my past and my future. What exactly do I mean?

bridal2 bridal3

and HOPEFULLY something I will have in my future…a Disney vow renewal!

My dream is to have a vow renewal, possibly at the wedding pavilion, and a reception or dessert party outdoors at my favorite hotel, the Grand Floridian.

Yes I had done research, yes I have several ideas. If I was rich I would do if for our 5 year next year, but, I am not, so hopefully we can afford to do it for our ten year in 2017. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED my wedding and had a blast, but I didn’t get to have my Disney wedding and I am determined to get it one day!

Here are some more wedding related posts I have written:

4 Years with my Best Friend

Wedding Season

5 Years Ago Today…

Thanks for indulging me with my ideas and pictures on this post! I wish Kate and William a lifetime of happiness!

Ok, switching gears. Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL and I ran 3 miles.

It was cool out, but still very sunny, and well…I sweat a lot. It is beautiful again today so I am about to go run again! I just can’t help it! Catch ya later!

QOTD: Have you ever thought about having a vow renewal?
